A big ‘thank you’

Tracy, our cleaner, would like to say a big Thank You to all the children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6, for how much they have looked after the toilets this last week. She is so proud of you all and you have really helped to make her job less difficult.

Well done, I am really proud of you to and want to send a special Thank You to our volunteers who have been keeping an eye out at beak and lunchtime.

Accessing learning from home

Good morning, for any children in years 5&6 that are currently self isolating, we are putting  learning resources onto google classroom so they can access learning from home. Details will follow shortly for parents/carers on how to access this from home and paper copies of our learning will be posted out to those with no internet/laptop access.

Please can we ask you regularly check your child’s class blog for updates and by subscribing to our website, you will be emailed instantly each time a new blog post is added. We have also added a list of useful websites for all areas of our purposeful curriculum which children can access at home.

For children remaining in school, learning will continue as normal and we are showing children how to access google classroom. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continued support and please feel free to contact me if you need anything! My email is [email protected]

Attendance Winners

Well done for acheiving the highest attendance in the 5/6 phase last week.  Let’s keep it up and aim for 100% this week.

We have had a great day and some of our class memebers wanted to give shout outs to their peers to recognise the hard work put in by them today…

Shout outs to:

Kyren – dividing fractions by other fractions.

Savannah – improved positivity.

Cailey – she just helps everyone when they need her.

Adam – all round good friend.

Aisha – supporting others when they are feeling low.

Crew shout out winners!

A huge well done to the children who received a crew shout out yesterday for either their spelling scores, arithmetic scores,  the amount of times they’ve read at home, their time on frog learning and read theory or for following the Plover pledge abs being super stars! It’s great to see so many new faces and they are all so proud of themselves! Keep it up 5/6!

Brilliant World Book Day

What a great day!  Children have been dressed as their favourite characters from books.  We’ve shared our favourite authors and genres and even had stories read to us by other class teachers.

Shout out to Josh and Cailey as well as Savannah and Kyren for producing great work.  Well done everyone.

Early Morning Revision Opportunity

Has your child told you that they are welcome to arrive at school from 08:15 onward?

As of this week, we are providing the chance for any Year 6 pupil to come in a little earlier in the morning if they wish to.  This is to give them the opportunity to access revision tools such as Read Theory and My Mini Maths on the build up to their official exams in May.

Pledges Made by All…

Today, we have been pushing ourselves to become even better leaders of our own learning and development.  We’ve spoken about: what a pledge is; different kinds of pledge that we could set ourselves; how we could achieve and evidence sucess with any pledges we do set; and finally, each child in the class set themsleves a personalised promise – I hope they can keep them.

Mrs Haycock’s:  I pledge to be more generous with teampoints if you impress me in whole class discussions.
