We are Scientists!
5W have been keeping up the great work this week! We have taken part in some more Science experiments. This week we delved into exploring what happens to different solutes when mixed with water. We found that some solutes such as sugar dissolved whereas others like pepper and gravy granules had a different effect on the water. The children learnt a lot about scientific vocabulary and had a fantastic time reflecting on what they learnt.
Super scientists!
6B have been super scientists throughout the whole of case study one. The scientific vocabulary they have been using during their experiments has been amazing! In this session, the children were testing materials to see if they were soluble or insoluble. We saw some awesome predictions before the experiment and some great reflections after the experiment! I am really proud of you 6B! Well done!

Then as part of a speaking and listening activity, we debated our ideas and we then had a final vote. We have a class full of #teamAldi who very much think Cuthbert should be let off!

Super English work!
I have seen some gorgeous English work this morning during our red box work lesson. We discussed the emotions of characters during a potions scene in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. We used colours to support the emotions we decided upon and we discussed why we had selected certain colours and why we felt they resembled certain emotions. We then added the sentences into our recount of the potions lesson.
Marvellous maths!
We have had a fabulous maths lesson this morning. We have been converting percentages to fractions and decimals. The year 6’s worked amazing in their collaborative groups. I saw lots of children leading their own learning to ensure they achieve their ME! So, so proud of you all 🌟
NSPCC Number day
On Friday 7th May we are going to be celebrating NSPCC Number day. We will be focusing on number and other maths throughout the day. We would like children to dress up in something related to number if they so wish.
I am looking forward to seeing the different creations.
