In our daily Maths Meetings, we are having a big push on telling the time, both in 12 hour clock and 24 hour clock. It would be really helpful if this could also be reinforced at home, simply throughout the day asking your child what time it is or asking how many minutes it is until a certain event.
Well done to Crew Blackham for coming first again in our reading league, and to Crew Chapman for coming a close second. A shout out goes to Crew Lister for gaining third place; you must have been reading your socks off.
We have had a fantastic start to the new school term and I must say I am excited for our learning this term. The children have worked hard to decorate our classroom for our new topic and have enjoyed the activities we have planned and organised for them.
A few updates for this term … PE will take place on a Friday afternoon. Please make sure we have full PE kits in school on Friday or why not bring it to school on a Monday and keep it on your peg. As this is the summer term please ensure that your child brings a water bottle and sun hat with them daily due to the changes in weather!
Tommy has worked hard this week in maths and in particular he has shown perseverance with our fractions work! Well done Tommy keep it up!
A big shout out and postcard goes to Oliver for working hard, getting smart in his learning and being kind to achieve those HOWL scores. Keep it up Oliver!
Having spent the week learning about the different types of teeth and the parts of a tooth, our focus today was on how clean our teeth were.
We cleaned our teeth and then used a disclosing tablet to reveal any plaque remaining on our teeth. We had some very pink smiles and lots of giggles – but most importantly, we have learnt the importance of cleaning our teeth really well, for two minutes twice a day!
Well done to Jakob, our Pride of Plover this week. Jakob has received the award for his superb improvement in his attendance! Keep it up Jakob and well done! #LovePlover
It was our much anticipated science experiment today to find out how clean our teeth are.

Special Appreciation this week goes to Jamilia, for arranging for her tooth to fall out right in the middle of the lesson when we were learning about the structure of a tooth. Talk about bringing learning to life!
Today we have been looking at one of the key English texts for our expedition ‘A day in the life of a poo, gnu and you’. It is a fabulous new factual book in really fun style. We have discovered that it is written in the style of a diary, but who writes the diary entries is the surprise – today it was written by a tooth! we will also be using extracts from Kay’s Anatomy, another new factual book, but written in a really engaging style.
This afternoon, 3T have had great fun constructing a tooth! Check out our pictures below. Please remember you will need your toothbrush and toothpaste tomorrow to be able to participate in the tooth experiment. #LovePlover
