You’ve brightened my day!

It may have been a bit of a gloomy Tuesday but your photos have certainly brightened up the day! We’ve received lots of observations today and it’s been great to see your brothers and sisters are helping out too. Well done to Conor, Lena O and Lawand who have joined us on Evidence Me today. A big well done Diana, tying her laces and to Ellis too. You have been so busy again today!

Keep checking the Reception Blog for new tasks and if you haven’t sent any observations yet, please do!

Tuesday’s home learning

Phonics for today – recap Buried treasure

For maths today we are going to be learning about Numicon. Numicon are shapes that represent numbers.

Can you make your own Numicon shapes? Can you use the Numicon shapes to make pictures? Write addition equations for what you have made.

With your tricky words today make matching pairs cards and play the game. If you can read all the words practice phase 5 graphemes eg on Phonics Play.

What a busy day!

Wow! You’ve all been so busy. It’s lovely to see so many of you are being helpful at home, washing cars, gardening and baking. Ethan and Ellie, your cakes and brownies look delicious! We’re also getting lots of photos of your learning. Ellis has worked hard in phonics and Brooke has done some great time work. There’s some great addition going on too. Well done Alina, Ellie, Jan and Harry. If you haven’t added any photos to Evidence Me yet, please do. I love to see what you’ve been learning.

This week’s focus for maths is learning about money, today focusing on how much more money I need.

Choose a picture. If I have 5p, how much more money will I need?
If I have 10p, how much more money will I need?

Use coins. Start at 5 or 10 and then count out pennies/coins to make the amount.

Explore Hot Cross Buns – a traditional food eaten at Easter.

Learn the rhyme.

You could try Hot Cross Buns if you can find them- what do they taste like.

There is further information on Twinkl as well as a recipe.
