What a superb visit from Doncaster Museum this morning! The children got so much from this well planned out session from the museum, who had tailored the workshop exactly to our guiding question and to the learning targets we have been focusing on this term. We can’t say thank you enough for this! The children had lots of objects that would have been found on a train to explore – what a treat when we usually aren’t allowed to touch very old and precious objects! I personally took a shine to the butter stamp. I wonder what your favourite item was? It was fascinating to gain such an insight into how the collection at Doncaster Museum was discovered and consider what impact the rail industry had on Doncaster, both on the town and their people. (Pictures to follow – I am having some trouble with getting them onto the blog! I am so sorry!) #LovePlover

We have had a busy afternoon making decorations for the Christmas trees in the school entrance. We mixed cornflour and glue, rolled out the dough and made trees and stars.
Tomorrow we will use our fine motor skills again to thread and tie.

More amazing home learning!
Shayen keeps amazing me with his home learning. He arrived yesterday with a traditional Viking game (a bit like chess), all made by hand. Fortunately it includes the instructions so we know how to play!
Well done Shayen!!

Super well done to Frank today for being a role model to other children and working hard all day! Also to Eshal, Sienna and Isabella for being incredibly kind by welcoming a new member to our class today. The girls looked after her all day and made sure she knew where to go. They really made sure she was given a warm welcome on her first day- proper Crew!

Maths in PE
Today in PE, we have been enjoying some Maths games. We played noughts and crosses with various equipment, we made shapes and numbers with a partner and we had to organise ourselves into groups of different sizes without talking. #LovePlover
Super Statistics
It’s maths week this week, so why don’t you brush up on your knowledge with BBC Bitesize?
We have been learning about statistics in Year 3 and 4 and there is a great programme on Bitesize to reinforce your learning.

Collaborative Maths
Today we have been practising our multiplication skills in a fun way. We had to roll a dice four times to generate a three place decimal number, then we rolled it once more to make a whole number. We multiplied the decimal and whole number and put the answer on a number line. This helped us with our place value skills too.
Fantastic collaboration, 6C! #LovePlover

Where have the Rockstars gone?
A gentle reminder to all year five and six pupils: TTRockstars awards can only be given if there are pupils to award them to so don’t forget to log in and challenge yourself in the studio!
I may even challenge you myself! If you think you can take on that challenge?
