Plover Ambassadors

Our new Ambassadors had an exciting morning visiting XP East, where they had a tour of the school from their experienced school ambassadors. Our pupils really enjoyed the visit, the XP pupils were amazing and taught us how to make a tour interesting and fun. We can’t wait to start to show visitors around our school. Obviously, our first visitors will be XP East as we want them to critique our skills!

Running a little late?

Year 5 and 6 doors will open every morning at 8:45am. The Y6 door will close around 8:50am. Miss Hickey will be floating outside near the Y5 door until 9:00am. Should your child arrive between 8:50 and 9:00am, please use the Y5 door for entry into the building. Arrivals after 9:00am should enter through the school’s main office.

Thank you

Mrs Haycock

Home Learning

We have had some superb home learning arriving into 5T. Well done girls, superb effort! The girls have had 10 Crew Coins and a beautiful, ‘You’re working hard’ sticker #LovePlover

We are geographers!

This afternoon, we have been researching land use in Doncaster. We then have compared it to Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela, which is the country we are researching as part of our case study. The children made really good inferences using Google Maps, well done! #LovePlover

Creative Circuits

Year 5 had a fun afternoon using equipment to create their own circuits! I can confirm they were hard work, as the children put me through my paces testing them out. #LovePlover

Rainforest Layers

Year 5 have been learning about the layers of the rainforest and the animals that live in them as part of their hook week activities. They worked collaboratively to produce anchor charts to show what they had learned.

Mrs Keegan has also found us some origami parrots to make and the class are busy grappling with them! As you can see, Mr Taylor couldn’t help but lend his engineering expertise to those who were finding it tricky! 🙂 #LovePlover Continue reading

Hook week continues

It’s been another busy day in 5T, crafting different animals and scenery to immerse our classroom. This afternoon, we have enjoyed The Lorax. This is an introduction to human impact on our planet and will dad onto some work on the rainforest and human impact on the rainforests in the coming days and into Case Study One. #LovePlover

Hook week begins!

Welcome back 5T, it’s so good to see you after the break.

We’ve had a really fun day making decorations to immerse our classroom for the new expedition. We are excited to learn about the rainforest and think about how it links to the guiding question. Here’s a few photos from our first day back. #LovePlover

Christmas Party Fun!

5T had such a lovely party this afternoon with lots of fun games. These included musical statues, musical chairs, pin the nose on Rudolph and corners! It was so much fun and it was so lovely to laugh and have fun together. Thank you Miss Free for cutting out all the Rudolph noses and making festive corners and to Mrs Pass to for helping organise a 22 person musical chair extravaganza! Thank you also to our cooks who made everyone a wonderful party box of goodies – these were such a hit! #LovePlover
