End of the day shout outs

Well done for another wonderful day.  Again I have seen lots of wonderful work and lots of children working so hard.

The biographies are going to be wonderful once they are written, I’ve read some smashing first drafts from Ashton, Dalton, Mohamad, Corey and William. Well done to you!

I hope you all have a great evening, don’t forget about the quiz on Friday! There’s still lots to look forward to this week.

Enjoy your evening and stay safe!

We are writing a letter to Adika to find out about life in Kenya and to tell him about our life in the UK.

You will plan your ideas today and use the plan to help you write your letter on Thursday.

Have a look at the example letter first. Then have a look at how to plan your writing afterwards.

YEAR 2 EXAMPLE

Dear Adika,

My name is Miss Topliss. I live in England. I have read your story and I wanted to tell you about my life too. I live in a town called Doncaster. There are lots of houses in the town and they are close together. I drive to school in the morning in my car and the roads are very busy because so many people have cars. I read that after school you like to play football. What is your team called?

I know that where you live is different to where I live. I read that you live in a village. What does your house look like? What does your classroom look like? I wonder if it is like mine? Mine has lots of tables and chairs and a board. Can you tell me about the games that you play at play time? After school I like to read my reading book. What things do you like to do when school and football are over?

I am excited for you to write back and tell me all about yourself.

Love from Miss Topliss xxx

Now have a go at writing your plan

Miss Topliss is thinking of a number, it has 4 tens and 7 ones, what is her number?

Miss Lister is thinking of a number, it has 0 tens and 5 ones, what is her number?

Number cards

I have the numbers 7, 5, 1 and 9.

How many 2-digit numbers can you make from these cards?

Match the number sentences to the correct answer.

60 + 1=                   54

90 + 3=                    61

Wednesday 10th June Maths

Good morning, here is your maths learning for today. If you need any support please contact [email protected]

Starter

Write the correct numbers next to these words:

Five

Seven

Thirteen

Ten

One

Zero

Here is a video to help you with today’s learning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Totj3oVgVy8

What is my number?

The number I am thinking of is one more than 16, what is my number?

The number I am thinking of is one more than 32, what is my number?

The number I am thinking of is one less than 26, what is my number?

The number I am thinking of is one less than 40, what is my number?

Number cards

I have the numbers 7, 5, 9 and 6. Use the number cards to make 2-digit numbers.

Now write one more and one less than the numbers you have made.

E.g. I can make the number 57 from the cards, if I look at the 100 square I can see 56 is one less than and 58 is one more than.

Dinosaurs

Some pesky dinosaurs have walked all over the 100 square. Can you write down which numbers they have walked all over?

Teachers

Miss Lotysz thinks one more than 15 is 25, is she correct?

Miss Topliss thinks one less than 64 is 63, is she correct?

Miss Lister thinks one less than 37 is 27, is she correct?

Good Morning! Wednesday

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a good evening.

There’s lots of learning to do in our online classrooms so make sure you log on and let me know how you are are and after that get busy with the learning that has been posted for today.

Many of you have been letting me know how you’ve been getting on with the PE challenges. Some of you have been on your trampoline, pogo sticks or doing planks. Please post some photo’s of what you’ve been up to on the stream so your friends can see.

Have a wonderful day!

Wednesday 10th June

Good Morning,

It’s a bit of a dreary day today – but at least the rain is good for the plants. Hopefully the weather will brighten up later.

We have the final write prepared for you in Google Classroom – your brilliant Biography about a member of the Tudor Royal Family. I can’t wait to rad them – your draft versions were very good. Remember to use those important Year 4 features in your writing to really show off. We are going to o turn your biographies into a wonderful art gallery, so put in your best effort!

We are continuing with measurement in maths – a nice bit of revision and recap.

Are you joining us for the quiz on Friday? 2pm so there’s plenty of time to get things done in the morning. Hope to see you there.

take care, keep safe,

Mrs Graves
