Friday 10th July

Good Morning,

Today we are going to have our Google Meet call at 11am – we’re going to do something a little different – a scavenger hunt – so get ready to be a hunter!

I’d love to see you all so check out the code on the stream or on the blog later.

See you then,

Mrs Graves

Good morning!

Well Friday has arrived and there’s only more week to go.

Today we’ll be busy again in our online classrooms so head on over and make sure you let me know how you feel before making a start.

I have seen excellent perseverance, children challenging themselves on a daily basis and children who are motivated to learn even when they are not at school. I know it’s been unusual and hard to do your learning in such a new way but we are all very proud of each and every one of you. Keep it up, one more week to go!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Explain your answer.

True

Challenge

Miss Lotysz has ¼ of £8. £2

Miss Topliss has ½ of £6. £3

Who has the most? Miss Topliss

Challenge

Miss Lister says

Do you agree? No

Explain why.

This is incorrect, one quarter means 4 equal groups not just 4. One quarter of the marbles would be 5.

Challenge

Miss Lotysz has a jar of 12 cookies. She gives half of them to Miss Topliss and 2/4 of them to Miss Lister.

Who gets the most cookies?

The both get the same as 1/2 is equivalent (the same as) 2/4.

Challenge

Miss Topliss is using beanbags and hoops to find ¾ of 20.

Can you spot her mistake?

She should have 4 equal groups of 5, she has made the groups unequal.

Here is a game for you to have a go at once you have completed your learning.

Thursday’s shout outs

Another busy day! The weather has been so miserable but your work has certainly brought a smile to my face.

Special shout outs go today to Dahin, Mohamad, Nishal, Bethannie, Harper, Sumika and Darcie for continually doing their PE challenges. Well done for keeping active!

It’s great to hear so many have you have earned Knowledge Points on Read Theory and improved you speed and accuracy on TTRockstars. Well done to you all!

This Pride of Plover award is for you all, I’m looking forward to seeing what you do tomorrow.

Enjoy your afternoon everyone, take care!

Thursday 9th July

Good morning,

Hopefully the weather will pick up a bit later and you will get chance to get some outside time.

We are finishing off negative numbers today and also you have the chance to finish the acrostic poem using your name – I love how you have edited and improved your work, going back and expanding your sentences and ideas. I really feel that I got a great picture in my mind from some of the poems and feel that I get to know some of you better. I wonder if you could write them out on paper and decorate the poems so we can share with your year 5 teachers.

I will do a 4G Google Meet tomorrow at 11am so spread the word as this will be the last 4G meet – next week you will be invited to have a google meet with your Year 5 teachers – so keep an eye on the blog for dates and times.

Have a lovely day

Mrs Graves

Thursday 9th July

Good morning Key Stage One.

Today we are going to look at this film as I simply loved it and had to show you!

There is a small bit of the film that might seem a little bit scary but if you watch to the end, I promise everything and everyone is ok. We think it might make you laugh at the end!

The film shows a girl imagining the water in the washing machine to be the sea and her jeans were a shark! I loved how clever this clip was!

Your task today is to draw or write your own imaginary world, made of something that might be true! For example, perhaps you might think about the sky being a big swimming pool? Or perhaps a cardboard tube turning into a great big slide? Perhaps you can be creative with the things you might see in your fantasy world. Did you spot the rocks which were really washing baskets and the fish were socks?

I am sure you will have fantastic ideas with this. Remember to email them over to [email protected]

Morning!

Good morning! It’s Thursday already, I can’t believe it. This term is really flying by.

There’s lots to do in our online classrooms today so make sure you head over and let me know how you are doing. We are continuing to find out about Tudor Explorers, practicing our times table skills and thinking about ways we can be kind to ourselves.

I hope you have a great day, stay safe!
