Posters in English – Subtraction in maths

Y1 have been learning about their new text Rosa Parks, which links very closely to our expedition being a real life hero and is also relevant during Black History month.

We discussed the features of a poem and then the children went and created their own Rosa Parks wanted posters. Which they then presented in the glorious sunshine!

In maths today we started learning subtraction by partitioning the whole.

Halloween Film Night

Just a polite reminder that if your child goes to club on a Thursday night they still need to pay the £2 if they want to go to the film night tomorrow. There will be lots of treats and goodies, it’s going to be a brill night so please pass your £2 to your class teacher. #LovePlover

Y2P Explore Blogging

We have been exploring how to stay safe online! We have discussed how important it is not to share our personal information and our identity. This includes our phone numbers, faces, house numbers and our address.

We have chosen a photograph of our friends to share with you. You will notice that we have covered our friends faces with a smiley face this is because some people are not allowed to go on the blog and we are protecting their identity. We have been learning about our real life superheroes.

Plover Praise

Well done to Oscar for being kind towards his fellow class mates by helping them during PE!

Well done to Charlie for working hard in his learning and producing lots of handwriting as well as taking part in PE!

Keep it up guys 🤩

Maths Monday’s

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. We’ve been looking at number bonds to 20 in maths and today we looked at subtraction. We used cubes and hoops and had whiteboards to make number sentences to represent what we did. We started with our whole which is 20 and took some away to create two parts! Have a look…

See if you can show your adults at home what a part part whole model looks like. It could be using pencils, sweets, coins! Can you write the number sentences? I’d love to see and there might be some extra crew coins in it for you!

This afternoon we continued our expedition learning. We looked at uploading to blogs so stay tuned for some blog posts!

Just a short one today but see you all tomorrow and have lovely evenings!
