We had a fantastic family learning session this morning. Thank you to all the adults who attended. The children were very creative making lots of creatures for under the sea.

This week F1 have worked really hard, to create some beautiful sea creature collages, as part of our final product. The children chose either a starfish, fish or turtle, to collage using a variety of materials. They thought very carefully about what colour materials they needed to choose, for their chosen sea creature. I am so proud of all the gorgeous artwork that has been created – we are artists!

5L had so much fun this morning learning how to create art through coding in their computing lesson. I was so impressed with how they created some complex algorithms to create a repeating colourful pattern. The children were really engaged and seemed to enjoy how they could be creative in different ways. Iām so looking forward to seeing what they can do next week!

The posters that were produced for our peaceful protest are more than amazing! Everyone was totally engrossed in what they were doing and felt incredibly motivated to produce beautiful work because it had true purposeā¦well done everyone!

Creating art in ways we would not normally was definitely a highlight of Hook Week! We all faced lots of challenges along the way (especially me – just ask your child about my polar bear attempt) but with specific and kind critique, all children were all able to produce a final piece that they were proud of! Well done everyone.
I hope you are as proud of yourselves as I am of you all!

This week we have done some beautiful paintings of different traditional tales, to help immerse our classroom displays. We explored colour mixing and creating a range of shapes with our paint brushes.

I have been blown away with how everyone has approached the artwork this week.
Inspired by our key text “The Last Bear” by Hannah Gold, we recreated the front cover using acrylic paints and unusual equipment – not brushes!
Continue readingToday, Year 6 have continued their art case study and have been looking at using a range of techniques to depict light and shadows. Their shading has blown me away!
