Mel Hewitt from XP visited us today to show year 5 how to draw trains and teach them about perspective and the vanishing point. The children enjoyed seeing her amazing drawings and made a great start on having a go at their own drawings.

Hedgehogs

Over the last two weeks the children have been learning about hedgehogs. They have made hedgehogs in different ways. They have learnt facts about them and have been writing about them. We had a fantastic literacy lesson this morning. The childrenā€™s writing was amazing. They could all say what they wanted to write.

Thank you to our expert visitors this week – ex Army Steph and Cornet player Sean!

Shout out to Elisa’s continued hard work and beautiful home learning. Well done to Mateo for working hard in Maths and expedition.

We have been artists this week in expedition using different materials and techniques to create our Flanders Fields and Poppy Wreath art!

We have been writers and learned about subjects and verbs, to write some lovely independent sentences.

In crew we learned about being a good friend.

A little visitor left us a special note to keep an eye on 1M ready for World Kindness day next week…

We are challenging ALL of our pupils to enter our half-term art competition. We would love you to create a piece of art to display proudly in our school staff room. You can create any piece of artwork you like! Please ensure any contributions are given to your class teacher on the 31st October who will pass them on to myself and the winners will be notified on the 1st November. There will be numerous prizes: the most creative, the brightest, the most unique and an overall winner!
