New Crew Challenges

This afternoon we have had some great fun developing our crew by testing our teamwork techniques.  We were set various challenges to complete and had to do this without communication.  Perseverance and resilience were needed to be successful.  Who would have thought that passing a ball could be so difficult?

Nando’s winners!

A huge well done to the above children who have read 50 times and have won a meal at Nandos! The children will be joining Mrs Ogle on Friday at 11:30 to enjoy their treat! Well done to everyone who has read at home, us teachers can see the impact and we encourage you to keep it up! Our next incentive starts on Monday and the reward will be a pizza making party at the end of Spring term at Pizza Express!
The rules are, children must read to someone and have a signature in their reading records or on paper. Only one signature a day counts and if children are struggling to read to an adult at home, they can read to their teacher during break/dinner to count towards their signatures! The first children to read 50 times will be given a place! We have more places on the next reward so all is to play for! Let’s keep up the reading 5/6!

Solar System to Scale

Today, 6H have been really busy preparing a scaled image of our solar system.  It is only in its beginning stages but I cannot wait to see the finished product.  Keep up the hard work, 6H.

New Year, New Term, New Start, New thoughts…

What a fabulous first day back.  It has completely ‘rocketed’ by.  Having ‘launched’ our new topic: ‘Is there anybody out there?’ we have been considering what we would like to learn about over the next few weeks.  Some amazing questions have been asked.  So much so that  I might even have to dig out my old university textbooks!  Keep a look out on this page for photographs of the superb questions your children asked today.

Successful Sales of Super Scrumptious Santa Snacks

Thank you to all of you who supported our enterprise event last night.  We made a profit of £37 and are really proud of ourselves because we managed this even with a poorly teacher who had to go home!  We do have a few cookie jars left which we are willing to sell at a discounted price of £1 per jar.

Special thanks to:

Kyren, Emily, Luca, Joseph, Adam, Cailey, Donya, Savannah and Colbie

for staying behind and selling our product on behalf of 6H.

Year 5/6 Nando’s reading challenge!

Our Nando’s incentive has been fantastic! So many children from years 5&6 have read at home and I speak on behalf of the 5/6 team when I say how proud we are of you all!

The winning years 5&6 children will be announced on Friday and their trip to Nando’s will be in the first week back. There is still time to increase your score by reading at home up until Friday!

Our new incentive will be launched in crew after Christmas! It’s an exciting one!
