5/6 frog learning challenge!

Using the following link will allow children to access frog learning https://www.frogplay.net/my/login  the school ID is: PLDN2

Then children will need to login using their username and password, if any children have problems logging on, please encourage them to see their class teacher. For every night children spend on frog learning, they will receive a ticket into our Easter draw and winners will be selected on the last day of term to win a variety of prizes! I will be checking every morning! I have set a variety of assignments for children to complete. Good luck 5/6!

Mathematical Madness!

Over the course of today, 6H have expanded their mathematical vocabulary in many areas.  They now know the terms radius and diameter and can calculate one if they know the other.

They have also made a fabulous impression on our visitors who have been in school all day.

Proud teacher – once again.  Well done, 6H.

Calling All Parents and Carers…

SATs are rapidly approaching and your children may need some encouragement to become leaders of their own learning.  They have already brought home a list of various online sites that are helpful and I hope they have been used.  If they haven’t, there’s still plenty of time.  Perhaps you could draw up a reision timetable with them so they can organise thier time effectively?

Children should be practising the spelling of all Y5/6 words which have been split into groups of fifteen and are tested in lots of fifteen weekly.  In addition, they need to continue to speed up their recall of all multiplication facts up to 12 x 12.   There are many online games which help with this.

This week, I will be sending home some additional work to help prepare your child for their SATs exams.  Please encourage them to complete this work to the best of their ability rather than just rushing through it.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

We are on our way home!

We are on our way home from a fantastic day out at the National space centre. I am unbelievably proud of each and every child today as their behaviour has been fantastic! The children have learnt so much and can’t wait to share their experiences with their parents and carers tonight.
We are aiming to be home for twenty past four, please can we ask parents to not park directly outside of the school at our time of arrival to allow our driver to park safely.

Pace, Productivity and Pride

Those of you who know me well, will know what I mean when I say I am a nag! No, not a horse, someone who pesters you until the desired outcome is complete.  Well, today for the first time in my teaching career (almost 20 years) I have not had to nag once!

The pace and productivity of our class has been so phenomenal that the children earned themselves 20 minutes of free choice this afternoon.  The part that has amazed me the most is that during this free choice time, most pupils chose to extend their learning by doing either personal revision, Home Learning or art based activities linked to our expedition.

I am so proud of all their efforts and perseverance!

Out of This World Home Learning

Pupils in 6H have been working really hard at home to extend the learning they have been carrying out in school.  This has been displayed in the corner of our room and all pupils who have work up there are incredibly proud of their work.
