Long multiplication, number line placement and place value games have helped to embed the skills we need as marvellous mathematicians.

A huge shout out to everyone below.
Grappling with equipment in different ways has helped to clarify understanding visually for Mo, Roman, Lola, Taylor, Dahin and Noah. Lucas has had such a positive attitude over the last few days and I could not be prouder of him.

Well done guys!

Today, we played 21 in Crew. The children loved the game! My personal highlight was Nik making sure he made me say 21 – well played! #LovePlover
Well done to Corey, in 6C, who was chosen to speak to author Jess French today. The author call was part of a project which school is currently involved in. Each child in KS2 received a copy of the book ‘Protect the Planet’, which we have used in Crew to discuss how to take care of our planet, as well as COP26. #LovePlover

All children in KS2 received a copy of the book ‘Protect the Planet’, as a gift from the Literacy Trust. Today, we are so excited that we were invited to join a call with Jess French, the author.

Today, in Year 5 we have started a new unit. We have been learning about line graphs, bar charts and pictograms. Here are some of the children who went and lead their own learning today during the maths lesson.

Well done Darcy on your home learning. You obviously spent a great deal of time researching and applying all the facts we have learnt in class to produce this fab poster.
In class we are busy copying up and editing a non chronological report.

,
Blake, who else could have received our yellow T-shirt this week? You’ve been nothing short of incredible and your editing and improvement in your writing was superb! A very deserving winner, the class are delighted for you! #LovePlover

What great week you’ve had Year 5, I have been really impressed with the start you have made to the new half term. This week, we’ve enjoyed preparing for our final write with some reading comprehensions, performance poetry, Maths work on multi step problems and rounding, as well as learning about how trains have changed over time. It’s amazing how much we can fit into a week! We also received a new book each, ‘Protect the Planet’ from the Literacy Trust and are looking forward to an author zoom call next week! #LovePlover
