5K are busy mastering 5 digit numbers such as 72,519! We are looking at rounding them to the nearest 100,1000 and 10,000. The children have risen well to the challenge and have been busy explaining why the numbers would round up or down and why. Well done 5K and keep going.

Awesome work today 6B! Keep it up!
Austerfield
6B had so much fun today at Austerfield. They participated in numerous team building activities and then they went on to den building. I am so proud of how well my class worked as a team to develop crew and each and everyone of them earned £20 class cash each!
Have a fabulous weekend 6B you deserve it! See you next week for another fabulous week! #Wearecrew

Today we have learnt a little more about the crews we will be working in this year and we are all very excited about the idea. We are also looking forward to developing our team skills at Austerfield tomorrow.
Going on a trip tomorrow!
We are all excited to be off on our travels tomorrow. Within our class we have noticed we have more focus compared to the start of the week and we have been very creative. Look at our windows!
We wonder can we be quicker to react when asked to be quiet?
Welcome back 6B!
6B have had a fabulous first few days back. They have created some beautiful art work to immerse our room. The children are really excited to learn about our new theme ‘Our world, what we you going to do about it?’ We have had a very interesting discussion about what they think the theme title means and what we can do to help our world.
Please check our blog for weekly updates of what 6B have been up to!
What an amazing start to a new school year! All children have been busy converting our leaning environment into a rainforest. I cannot wait to see the finished product. The teamwork they have displayed over the last two days has been phenomenal and we are all looking forward to our visit to Austerfield tomorrow.
Robots take over 4G
Plover had a robot invasion today, as robots of all shapes and sizes descended on year 3 and 4. Class 4G’s creativity was certainly on show with some amazing costumes and really clever design. Well done to all the children, families and friends that help to create them.
We were getting ‘hooked’ into our class book today – ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. We made predictions about the book from the clues on the front cover and then shared the first chapter.
Following this we tried our hand at acting – as we re-enacted the key scenes from Chapter 1 – I think we have some future oscar winners in our midst!
The highlight of the day was definitely this afternoon when the whole of year 4 came together to watch the brilliant film ‘Robots’. We even got to share some popcorn as we watched!
Well done 4G – another fab day!
5K – a great start!
Monday came as a shock to us all – both children and teacher! We all agreed it was very strange to be out of our pjamas both 11am. Everyone has settled in well and has adjusted to being back at school. We have been busy decorating our learning environment. A great start 5K.
