KS1 Plover Praise Yellow T-Shirt winners!

Congratulations to our KS1 Plover Praise and yellow t-shirt winners!

1M- Peyton for continuing to show a work hard, get smart and be kind attitude. This week she has gone the extra mile with her learning at home to learn more about sign language and research about dinosaurs. Well done Peyton!

1/2C- Lena for working hard in all her Maths, English and expedition learning this week. As well as showing great confidence and courage to work with other children. Keep it up Lena!

2P- Morris for showing some fantastic learning in maths. By not only deepening his own understanding but also supporting and helping others to develop their maths learning. Top work Morris!

Describing Dinosaurs and Humans

Today the superstars have been learning about adjectives. They have used adjectives to describe dinosaurs and humans. During our science expedition we have been comparing human body parts to dinosaur body parts!

Little Ellie velociraptor… medium Karlie-Rose pterodactyl … big Mitchell brachiosaurus

1st Yellow T-Shirt Winner

Congratulations to Nelly on winning the first Yellow T-Shirt in Year 1!

She has been such a kind and fabulous role model to everyone within KS1 during the first four weeks! She shows all the attitudes in our Plover Pledge. Works hard, getting smart, being kind and staying safe.

Who will be this weeks winner?

Fantastic learning in English

On Monday in English we introduced our new text ‘How to grow a dinosaur’. Children made predictions and designed what the front cover may look like. Some brilliant illustrations- well done superstars! They then worked hard to collaboratively complete the jigsaw.

Yesterday, we continued exploring our new text and described ‘wonders, feelings and things’ about the character ‘Albie’. A great start to our learning- keep it up 1M! 🙂

Dinosaur Hook Week in KS1

Things turned very Jurassic Park last week… or shall we say “Ploverassic Park!”

All children in Key Stage 1 and teachers (some parents too) were truly captivated by the immersive activities which took place last week.

We hope you enjoy seeing what fantastic things your children got up to, to hook them into their learning expedition about dinosaurs. The KS1 guiding question is ‘Where did all the dinosaurs go?’

Enjoy a well earned rest this weekend and we look forward to getting our ‘claws’ into our learning expedition next week!

Dinosaur skeletons in Y1

Children in Y1M today have continued to explore, engage and create some awesome dinosaur learning. From dinosaur silhouettes and arts and crafts, to baking dinosaur biscuits- nom nom (Mr Meade definitely won’t be starring on Bake Off)!

Tomorrow we will reveal our guiding question for our first expedition in Year 1 🙂

TEAM- Together Everyone Achieves More in Year 1M

Our Superstars continued to show their awesome personalities and characteristics last week. Working in teams to complete challenging activities, as well as spreading bundles of joy and kindness. 🙂

Year 1M have started this week amazingly well! They were buzzing about what had happened to our playground/classrooms over the weekend (I know some parents were too) and the children are thriving in their hook week activities!

Check out our KS1 video at the end of the week… it’s going to be ‘ROARsome’!

KS1 Magical Moments

Hi Everyone,

Obviously last week was a shorter week due to the training day.  However, we managed to capture some of the learning taking place.  We are already looking forward to creating our next video which features Ploverassic Park!
