Lots of you will be receiving certificates this week from Children’s University. Well done if you have achieved your next milestone and we’ll look forward to seeing you at your graduation in July!

Look out for new summer codes coming soon. Please make sure you have added all of your Spring and Autumn codes as these will be deleted over the Easter break. If you need support with this, I am available at 4pm every Wednesday in 3H.

Thanks!

Extreme Reader Competition

KS1 Plover we love to read, BUT… we also love to read in weird and wonderful places!

We would love to see where you are reading and what weird and wonderful places you can think of to enjoy reading a book.

This could be reading at the zoo to the penguins, high up trees, at the beach, hiding in the cupboard… we were everywhere! At Plover, we would love to discover who are extreme readers!

Below are some photos for inspiration

There will be certificates for all entries and prizes for the top three entries!

The deadline for entries is Monday 17th April 2023.

Please email entries to [email protected]

Year 2 Parent Meeting

Year 2 is a really important stage of a child’s school career. There is a significant importance to ensure the children are progressing towards being fluent readers, legible writers and understand maths.

We would like to invite all parents to a coffee and cake meeting with the Year 2 class teachers on either WEDNESDAY 15th MARCH or THURSDAY 16th MARCH at 2pm.

This will be a chance to find out how you can support your child at home as well as discussing any questions you have surrounding their current academic progress.

We will be discussing:

  • Freckle
  • Lightening Squad
  • Reading flashcards
  • Arithmetic
  • Handwriting

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to catch a member of the team to discuss.

Thank you once again for your support

Mr Longley, Mrs Lewis and Mr Pickering

Pancakes!

Today in Year 2 we made pancakes, better late than never!

We followed the recipe and made the batter before Mrs Jobber showed us her expert flipping skills. They were so scrummy, a yummy treat on a rainy day.

Later on in the afternoon, we worked in mini crews to write our own instructions.
