Independent work

Shout out to Mateo who watched our video very carefully of how to paint a bear. Mateo then took himself of in provision, remembered how to colour mix brown and painted a beautiful bear all by himself.

We are artists

Today we started some beautiful paintings of bears. We thought carefully about what shapes we needed to use and practised our painting routines.

Rugby World Cup Tickets

Good Evening

We have a fantastic opportunity for 10 of our Plover children to be flag bearers and parade around the Eco Power pitch for the opening game of the Rugby League World Cup!

Ā·       The first fixture at the Eco Power Stadium, which will take place on Monday 17th October, France Vs Greece, 7.30pm kick off. This is the game that we plan on celebrating the success of the RLWC2021 Legacy program that our school has been a part of. We are encouraging as many children to attend this fixture with friends, family, parents and school friends. The Flag Parade will take place 30/40 mins before kick off!

Ā·        Parents will be able to pay for tickets on ParentPay for themselves and their children. We are keeping a track on quantities so tickets can be bought together and all the Plover Crew sit together for this amazing experience!

It would be amazing for as many Plover children and families to experience this once in a life time sporting opportunity. We ask that every child attending has a parent/guardian with them. Mr Meade and another member of Plover staff will be there to meet you all.

Any questions email [email protected] or speak to the office! The deadline for tickets is next Friday 16th September! #LovePover

Changes to tomorrow

The teddy dressing up in EYFS will be postponed in light of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. We feel that this is the right thing to do as a mark of respect. We know that children will be disappointed but we will reschedule and let you know the new date as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

We will instead learn about the life of the Queen and how she served our country.

There’s a bear on the loose!

This morning when the children arrived at school, they discovered that a bear had snuck into our classroom! The bear had left his paw prints behind and had created a mess. The children drew the bear some beautiful artwork. I wonder if he will return tonight?

What makes our crew special?

Today in crew we looked at how we can make our crew the best crew it can be. The children decided being kind was the most important on the list so we discussed how we can be kind to our peers. We also looked at how unkind words can affect our peers and are difficult to take back – just like it was hard to get this ketchup back in the bottle, even though we had said sorry for squirting it out.

Postcards

Gabriella and Siyar got our first postcards of the year today for working hard and settling in fantastically to their new school. They both tried really hard during phonics and maths and did some amazing tidying in provision.
