Roots of empathy

Thank you to baby T and his mummy for coming to visit us today. He has grown so much. He is now sitting and is starting to crawl. We learnt about how he shows his emotions and the things he likes and dislikes.

We are so proud of our dancing superstar!

Well done to this incredibly talented young lady. What a half term you had! Having moved up a section to dance against the ‘Juniors’, Mia was one of the youngest of roughly 20 children who competed against each other all week in solo routines. She came home with 12 individual medals: 2 gold medals; 5 silver; 3 bronze; and 2, 4th place medals – as well as others for group routines! See, I told you she was talented! I can’t wait to come and watch you and your friends perform again.

Look out London’s West End…Mia is gonna take you by storm one day!

We are mathematicians

Today, we learnt how to divide a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number with a remainder. Miss Farrow’s maths class used matchsticks to help them work out the answers.

‘Motivate Me’ Crew Challenges

In our crews, we have had to think really carefully about how we can achieve a team aim. It was much harder than we first thought it would be to lower the counting stick to the ground without anyone’s fingers becoming detached from the stick. It was amazing how much better we did when we actually communicated with each other!

Well done teams.

Dance in Y4!

The children are focusing on Dance this half term and have had such a great time practicing the Haka. They learned a bit about its history and where it originated from. Then they put on their most intimidating faces to learn the first few steps.

Motivational Crew

Y3 took part in the floating lift challenge yesterday. We split off into mini Crews and were given the task of lowering the hoop down to the floor using only 1 or 2 fingers each. Students used a variety of skills too successfully lower the hoop to the ground without dropping it.

Mr Wolf’s Pancakes

Today we have enjoyed celebrating a belated pancake day! We read the story of Mr Wolf’s pancakes, and discussed what ingredients we would need to make our own. We spoke about the dangers of cooking on a hot hob, and how we can keep ourselves safe. We then all had a go at trying to use our knifes and forks properly, to cut and eat our delicious pancakes.

Dragon dancing

In F2 today we have been practicing dragon dancing. We watched some clips of Chinese dragon dancing and listened to some music. The children then decided the moves that they could do.
