Reminder

Hi 6T. I hope you have enjoyed the long weekend. I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning!

Just a reminder, Wednesday is our science fair at XP School. You will need to arrive at 4.30 for a 5pm start. Our fair will run from 5 until 6pm. In addition to showing your adults your fantastic learning from this term, there will be refreshments and an opportunity to play guess the name of the Christmas teddy. Any adults coming with you to the fair can park in the away car park (located next to XP and XPE). As you look at the schools, the car park is between them both on the left hand side.

Please see any of the Y5 or Y6 teachers tomorrow with any queries. #LovePlover

We need your toilet roll tubes!

In the final week of term, all children will be making christmas crackers to decorate the tables on christmas dinner day. We need as many toilet roll tubes as possible so please pass any on to your child’s class teacher by the 12th December!

Raising money! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well done to Bobby, George, Samuel, Maison and Ralph who completed a sponsored walk to raise money for the royal British legion. They raised over £700 and they dod this straight after a football match! What an amazing example of being kind!

Acting out a narrative poem

4F have worked hard on their acting skills this week. In pairs, we practiced acting out a WW2 narrative poem, and then performed it to the class. I am impressed with the variety of acting skills everyone has used e.g. volume, facial expressions, body language and clear speech.

Maths Week Challenge – Thursday

Space mission

A rocket blasts off from Earth heading for Mars, getting faster as it travels. In fact, the rocket’s speed doubles every week that it’s in space.
If the rocket lands on Mars in week 12, in which week was it halfway there?

Remember to share your answer with your teacher. Check back tomorrow for the answer.

Wednesday’s Maths Challenge Solution

World Cup Puzzle

There are 6 teams in a group. Each team plays every other team twice. How many games are there in total?

Answer = 30 games

Apologies from Mrs H

I thought I’d taught myself something new…I kind of did – but I made a basic error! Below is a compendium of pictures from the last couple of weeks which I thought I’d already blogged but had not set correctly.

You will find a selection of everything from Halloween craziness to Yellow TShirt and Praise Postcard winners; to checking for understanding and the using of protocols.

We are getting there together 3H. You’ve made great strides so far. Let’s keep challenging ourselves, grappling when we need to and most importantly of all, let’s make sure we all listen carefully (me included) so we can follow the instructions given quickly.

Children In Need

This Friday (18th) we will be holding a non school uniform day in recognition of Children In Need. Children are invited to wear something yellow and/or spotty. We will also be collecting donations for this worthy charity which can be handed into your child’s class teacher.

Thank you
