Making Map Models

We revisited the route we took to get to the woods. We looked at photos and made a large model map of the walk we went on. We used directional words and positional language to describe the route. #LovePlover

Caterpillar Detectives

Yesterday we had some special little visitors join our class. 5 tiny caterpillars. We are going to care for them and see how they grow. We learned the lifecycle of a caterpillar and then did active learning by acting each stage out. #LovePlover

F1 World Book Day

Happy world book day 2025! We have loved seeing all of your gorgeous costumes today and have had a great time sharing stories with the National Literacy Trust. Every child will be fetching home a copy of The Gruffalo, for them to keep, as part of our experience with the National Literacy Trust.

Exciting news!

Exciting news! Our caterpillars have arrived. They are very small and we will be watching them to see how they grow. We have learnt about the life cycle and lots of new words too. Hopefully the caterpillars will become butterflies!

Making maps

We looked at photos of the woods and made a large map. We used the words that we had learnt for direction and position. The children then made their own maps.

Well done everyone

Our local community

Today we have been for a walk around the perimeter of the school grounds. We learnt about different types of houses in our community, including; semi detached, terrace, flats and bungalows. We spoke about what things were the same/different to school and our houses. We then made a bar chart of the different types of housing we live in, and drew pictures of different types of houses.
