We have recently signed up to the ‘Recycle to Read’ initiative. This helps the planet and helps our school turn your batteries, which no longer work, into books for school! We are looking for the following batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V) to be brought into school and placed in the collection point at the school office. Please ensure the contact points have been taped over and all batteries are brought in a plastic bag. If we fill our box and send it back, we have the chance to win £50 in book tokens for school. In provision this week we have been exploring stomp rockets. We have been testing how far we can make our rockets fly depending if we used a lot or a little bit of force.

We have started learning about the story “Whatever next!” and are practicing being storytellers. In provision the children have been acting out the story and have been making their own pictures to help them tell the story.

Today we thought about showing respect and caring for our friends. We watched the story of the Lost Crayon and thought about how the different crayons felt. We then worked in pairs and thought about what we could say to our friends that would make them happy. The children told their friends about how kind they are, that they like to play with them and lots of children said how kind and caring they are to each other.
