F1 have created and explored poppies in different ways today, to remember our fallen soldiers. We spoke about why we celebrate Remembrance Day. The children made me really proud when they all stayed quiet to show their respects during the two minutes silence!

Well done Willow for getting our first pride of plover of the year! You have become so much more confident leaving your mummy and speaking to familiar adults in school. You always work hard on your adult directed tasks and have shown that you can join in with signing our Christmas nativity songs.

This week F1 have been learning all about hedgehogs. We used a variety of different materials to create our own hedgehogs including paint, glue/leaves and clay. There has been some absolutely beautiful artwork, all the children have worked so hard!

Today F1 gave racism the red card. We all wore red to stand up to racism and learnt about being kind to everyone, no matter the colour of their skin/their beliefs.

This week we have been looking at a place that is special to us; our home. We chose different materials to stick together, to create a box model of our home, and practised our scissor skills to cut out the windows/door.

F1 really enjoyed their Indian dance workshop this afternoon. Our amazing expert, Lucy, taught us lots about Diwali and helped us learn a beautiful Indian dancing routine. We then got to try on some Indian clothing ready to perform!

We have had a big focus this term on being kind to each other, sharing and being good friends. We have learnt our school character traits, as well as learning about British values. F1 have all settled beautifully into school routines and I am so proud of them all.

This week we have been looking at a place that is special to us; our homes. We went on a walk around the perimeter of the school to look at the different types of houses we could see. We learnt lots of big words such as: semi detached, bungalow, terrace and flats.
When we got back to the classroom we used our creative skills to paint pictures of our own house. There was some beautiful artwork!

We have been using our fine motor skills to put water into our pipettes and transfer it into the coloured duplo blocks and other containers.
