Taking shape!

Wednesday was another busy day! Our classroom is looking more and more like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and the children are all getting excited about our theme dress up day on Friday.

We had our first PE lesson and it was great to see so many children with their kit.  Let’s hope it continues!

Wonka Factory

We have been busy turning our classroom into Wonka’s Chocolate Factory – it’s not quite finished but it’s looking great so far.  We have also been thinking about Crew and why it is important to our school community.  We are looking forward to tomorrow. Don’t forget your PE kits!

Almost there!

We have enjoyed a fabulous week doing various Christmas crafts. We have created cards, calendars and the amazing pom pom baubles that were sold at the Christmas fair. Thanks to everyone who supported the fair, we sold all of our pom poms and raised some money to invest back into the children.

All of the children have arrived full of excitement for their Christmas party this afternoon and we have enough food donations to feed an army – thank you again!

As we approach the final day of the term, we shall be ending the year with the traditional carols around the tree. All parents and carers are invited to join us although please keep an eye on the app as the forecast is not very promising.

Can we take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy and peaceful new year.

Christmas Performance

Well done to everyone for taking part in the performance this afternoon, you were amazing! I’m sure everyone that was there feels a little bit more Christmassy after hearing you sing so beautifully.

XBot 19

A great big well done to everyone for our celebration event today.  I was so proud of you all! You have worked so hard throughout our expedition and it was lovely to see you telling parents all about our wonderful design and the learning we have been doing. (If only we had a an XBot 19 to help us tidy the classroom!)

Thank you to the parents who attended our celebration event today, we hope to see you all at the start of our next expedition in January.

You should be really proud of yourselves 3L, you were a real credit to Plover today. Who knows, there may be some future roboticists amongst you…

Years 3&4 film night

Years 3&4 have had so much at their film night tonight watching the Grinch in their Pj’s! They are currently eating hotdogs and drinking chocolate milkshake! Thank you to all the staff who stayed to support this event and to parents for supporting us to raise money for school funds. The children have behaved beautifully and are very much so in the Christmas spirit!

Another busy, busy week

I wanted to say a big well done to everyone in 3L for their perseverance and hard work during Assessment Week. Everyone has given 100% and been so enthusiastic doing their tests.

We are looking forward to seeing you next week for our celebration event!

Our new Maths unit

Today we have started our new Maths unit on Graphs.  We have looked at interpreting pictograms and tomorrow we will create our own before moving on tally charts and bar charts.

This afternoon we began looking at designing our own ‘Robot of the Future.’ It is a work in progress but we hope you’ll be able to join us before Christmas to see what we come up with.

First week back.

We have had a busy week settling back into our learning routines. We have completed editing and improving our narrative endings and we are now looking at the language of persuasion. In Maths, we are extending our understanding of place value and have enjoyed playing games to develop our knowledge. Please keep logging on to TimesTable Rockstars regularly to keep our learning going at home.

A reminder that we will need out OUTDOOR PE kit for our session tomorrow. We will need a change of trainers to go out on the field and maybe a spare bag to put them back into when we get changed as they might be muddy! It might also be a good idea to bring a warm sweatshirt and trousers so that we don’t get cold outside.

We are continuing to collect 5p pieces as part of the schools fundraising this year. If you can spare any, please keep sending them in. The class will get a reward to spend when the bottle is full!

A wonderful day at Magna

We all had a wonderful time at Magna today. We enjoyed finding out more about magnets and enjoyed building large circuits. The children loved investigating in the Water Pavilion and were amazed by the fire cyclone in the Fire Pavilion.

The children were brilliantly behaved and were a real credit to the school. They were excited, engaged, polite and could discuss how the trip linked to the learning we have been doing in our expedition lessons.

We’d also like to say a great big thank you to the adults that joined us on the trip – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Well done 3L. What a great day we all had!
