Rocking the rock climbing!

Waterfall group have had so much fun rock climbing! Every child in the group managed to climb to the top to squeeze the duck!

They are now super excited to be moving on to Piranha pool. The children are keeping everything crossed that they don’t fall in the water and get eaten by the Piranhas!

Year 5 have arrived at Robin Wood!

We have lots of excited children ready to start a fun full day of activities. We have just eaten dinner; the children have made their beds and are super excited to move on to their first activity!

We have taken lots of photos but I am only uploading the ones of children who have permission to be on social media.

Please keep checking our blog for updates and photos!

Year 5 have arrived at Robin Wood!

We have arrived! All the children are super excited and can’t wait to get started after dinner!

I will be uploading photos ASAP- we are just waiting for photograph permission from a few parents.

Please keep checking our blog to see what the children are getting up to!

It’s nearly time to go!

It’s nearly the day at last! The children in 5K and 5B have been very excited about their residential trip and have been counting down all week. Parents do not worry – they will all be fine!

We look forward to seeing them all on Moday to hear about their adventures.

Please bring in your plastic bottles!

Please can we ask that parents/carers save any plastic bottles you may have and pass them on to 5/6 teachers. After half-term, years 5&6 children will be going to Armthorpe baths to swim with plastic as part of our writing hook- from the perspective of a sea creature swimming in our seas (letters will be going out shortly).

We need as many bottles as possible to make it as realistic as we can.
Thanks in advance,
the 5 & 6 team 🙂

Rhino recreation

Another busy day! This afternoon we were busy using collage to recrete a rhino. There was glue and small bits of paper everywhere but a very calm and focussed atmosphere. It was great to see the children enjoying a craft activity. That’s animal number 2 sorted for the calendar!

Crew celebrations!

A huge well done to the above children who were all given a shout out today in crew assembly.

The top five photos are our top spellers from each class achieving a: bronze, silver or gold award today.

The next photo is of those children who are the top readers in their classes; they have read the most to an adult at home and are in with a fantastic chance of having dinner at Nandos next half term.

The next photo is the children who were nominated by their crews for a crew shout out for following the Plover pledge and lastly the bottom photo is of those who have improved their arithmetic scores by the most.

Well done 5/6! Remember to: keep practising your spellings from the sheets you have been given. Our next test will be spellings 16-30 on your 3/4 sheets. Also, keep up the awesome work of reading to adults at home! It really will help your fluency in reading! Let’s see who are winners are next week!

Also a shout out to 5K for being the top attending phase; 6B you know what to do next week!

Plover Praise Time

Friday afternoon is when the children have their free time as their reward for following the Plover Pledge. As I sat, listening to the excited talk and laughing that had been generated by a game of Twister. I thought wasn’t it lovely to see the pupils being children and enjoying themselves. Alot of the time, as a teacher, I am focussed on keeping the children learning and achieving progression so it was great to have a change of pace! It made me very happy to see their enjoyment and a different side of them all.
