Hot air balloons

2L have had a lovely afternoon making hot air balloons ready to display in our classroom. They have blown me away with how amazing they look! Wednesday 15th January is our family learning afternoon, which will start at 2pm. During this time you will be able to come and participate in some crafts with your child and look at the amazing work they have completed so far.

Introducing Crew

Today in 2L we have been looking at introducing crew and what we think it means to us. We decided that Crew made us a family and that we would always look out for each other and help each other. The children were great at identifying what different Crew members look, sound and feel like.

Today your child has come home with their home learning menu for their new expedition, after an amazing amount and quality of homework from the last term I cannot wait to see what I receive this year.

I have also sent home a reminder of your child’s frog learning password, where there are some maths quizzes to be completed to help your child with addition and subtraction.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

It has been lovely to have the children back in school and hearing all of their stories about their Christmas holidays. It sounds like they have all had a really good break.

There has been a fantastic learning buzz in the classroom today as the children found out their new expedition question of ‘ How do aircraft stay in the air?’ There have been lots of great contributions about what the children already know about this topic and what they would like to find out.

Keep checking back over this week to see some of the amazing things your children have created for our classroom.

CHRISTMAS PARTY TIME!

The children had an amazing time at their Christmas party. There were lots of sweets to go around during pass the parcel and lots of boogieing to Christmas songs afterwards.

A big thank you to those who donated lots of lovely treats for the party. The children really enjoyed all the goodies on offer.

A great start to the festivities.

What a lovely start we have had to the Christmas festivities. The children were amazing in the nativity performance and a real credit to both the staff and parents.

As we look forward to next week just a few notes for the diary:

Tuesday 17th December- school shop in the morning (please send your child in with a carrier bag) in the afternoon we have KS1 Christmas party- any party nibble donations are gratefully received. Children can also bring party clothes to change in to for the afternoon.

Wednesday 18th December- Christmas fayre. Please come along and see what your children have been creating.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Abbott

A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Abbott (Grandparents of Johnny in 1/2T) for their email following on from the Key Stage 1 Nativity.

‘We just been to nativity performance and just wanted to say how much we enjoyed it.  It was the best we have seen. Please pass on our congratulations to staff and children involved. Well done.’

A huge thank you! This put a huge smile on the face of both children and staff. We are really proud of all our children and delighted to hear that the family members of our children enjoyed it so much.

EYFS/KS1 film night

Thank you again to everyone who has supported our film night. We’ve seen lots of excited children watching Arthur Christmas in their PJ’s enjoying milkshakes and hotdogs! It’s so lovely to see how many children have been to the film nights this week and supported our fundraising so a huge thank you again!

We hope to see you all at our Christmas fayre on the 18th December at 3pm!
