Story mapping – Goldilocks
Nursery have worked hard over the last two days, to collaboratively create a story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We discussed story sequencing such as the start and the end, and used our story map to help us independently re tell the story afterwards.

5S analyse the features of non-chronological reports
5S have worked brilliantly in pairs this morning to analyse the features of an expedition-related text which takes the form of a non-chronoligical report.
We read the text together then identified the features and their purpose, before sharing our ideas as a class.
We are persevering with dictionary dilemmas!
Finding words in a dictionary can be a tricky skill to learn; but with weekly practice, we are getting there. Some children are even ready to take on āHaycock the Hustlerā and compete to be the quickest to find all of our Speedy Reading key words.
Can any one beat my record times? Whoās up for the challenge, 3H?

4GR have been working extremely hard this week
Mrs Graves and Mrs Robertson are really proud of the work that 4GR are doing in our English and Expedition lessons. They’ve even created an informative video about rationing during World War 2.
We Are Storytellers!
Our nursery children have been working hard to re tell the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We used props during our expedition session to re tell the story altogether, the children then independently carried this on in provision.

Identifying features of a text!

6B were superstars as always yesterday. Our final write for our English cycle will be a non-chronological report. We kick started the cycle looking at a model and identifying what features are included in a non-chronological report to help us when writing our own.

To be or not to be!
2P have been learning about different verb types in English. We are becoming very good at recognising action verbs and verbs ‘to be’ and ‘to have’. We went on a verb hunt today to spot each different type of verb and then we recorded them in the correct group. Great work 2P!

Amazing maths in F2BP
The children explored the number four today. They led their own learning and showed that they understand the different ways four can be made using cubes, toys, drawing, even body shapes! Lots of children got postcards today!
