1M not only impressed Mr Meade and Mrs Duckitt, but also Mrs Graves who popped in during our physically active English lesson. The children learned what a common noun was and understood it is was a person, place or thing! #LovePlover

1M learnt what adjectives were today “describing words” what we see, smell, taste, hear, touch and think. They shared some fabulous adjectives to describe Vlad the flea.
We also gave the children their brand new book bags and homework. All children MUST bring in book bags, book and homework (completed) on Thursday this week please.
Shout out to Ellis working hard in Maths and doing super reading at story time. Well done Tommy on bringing in some creative Fire of London art. #LovePlover
Lacey-Mae, Alex, Siyar and Flynn have taken great pride in their English and then Expedition work – producing some beautiful handwriting! #LovePlover
In English on Friday we recapped our key text and spoke about the characters in the story. Then we had fun learning about how to ask questions and used our questions to ask Vlad the flea and Boxton the rat! #LovePlover
The adults first pretended to be Vlad the flea. Our children thought of some amazing questions to ask Vlad!
They asked what he ate and if he was burned. The children wanted to know where he lived and who was his best friend!
The children then transformed into Vlad. They used their inference skills to answer questions about Vladās life.

We have been studying the book ‘Vlad and the Great Fire of London’ and we have been using active learning and drama hot seating to help us understand how Vlad might have been feeling in the story. This has set us up nicely to do some brilliant writing !

In English, children recapped the beginning and middle of our key text before acting out and retelling the end. We used our story map to help. We can’t wait to write about it next week! #LovePlover
Every week in 1M we are going to have a handwriting competition.
I am looking for the most beautiful handwriting in any piece of work! Two winners win a prize and can proudly showcase their handwriting on our display board.
Well done to Sreelakshmi and Mateo who have worked hard following Martin Harvey’s handwriting lines with short lines, tall lines, tail lines and joining lines! #LovePlover
We recapped our beginning videos. Then reread the whole story. Before making a story map and acting the middle part of the story! #LovePlover
In our first English lesson we… completed a jigsaw of the front cover, made predictions about what the story might be about, read the whole book, made a story map and then acted out the beginning to Vlad and The Great Fire of London! #LovePlover
