Name Writing

Some of our F1 children have had a really good go at copying their name today in our handwriting lines. We worked on holding our pencil correctly to help us form letters more easily.

Bedtime March Past

We have been listening to a poem for the last 3 weeks. We’ve talked about it, we’ve learned actions and we’ve joined in. We wanted to share it with you!

Finding Common Nouns

1M not only impressed Mr Meade and Mrs Duckitt, but also Mrs Graves who popped in during our physically active English lesson. The children learned what a common noun was and understood it is was a person, place or thing! #LovePlover

Adjectives to describe Vlad

1M learnt what adjectives were today “describing words” what we see, smell, taste, hear, touch and think. They shared some fabulous adjectives to describe Vlad the flea.

We also gave the children their brand new book bags and homework. All children MUST bring in book bags, book and homework (completed) on Thursday this week please.

Shout out to Ellis working hard in Maths and doing super reading at story time. Well done Tommy on bringing in some creative Fire of London art. #LovePlover

Beautiful Work in 1M

Lacey-Mae, Alex, Siyar and Flynn have taken great pride in their English and then Expedition work – producing some beautiful handwriting! #LovePlover

Vlad and The Great Fire of London hot seat!

In English on Friday we recapped our key text and spoke about the characters in the story. Then we had fun learning about how to ask questions and used our questions to ask Vlad the flea and Boxton the rat! #LovePlover

Hot seating as Vlad the flea!

The adults first pretended to be Vlad the flea. Our children thought of some amazing questions to ask Vlad!

They asked what he ate and if he was burned. The children wanted to know where he lived and who was his best friend!

The children then transformed into Vlad. They used their inference skills to answer questions about Vladā€™s life.

Great English Learning

We have been studying the book ‘Vlad and the Great Fire of London’ and we have been using active learning and drama hot seating to help us understand how Vlad might have been feeling in the story. This has set us up nicely to do some brilliant writing !
