Caring crew!

In our RSE crew, Crew Blackham discussed our feelings and how our feelings can sometimes change just like a rollercoaster! We looked at how we can identify those feelings on ourselves and others and how we can help one another.

We made a pledge to share our feelings with our loved ones and our peers!

We Care Wednesday!

We have been thinking a lot about our emotions and learning new words to describe them.

Today in crew, we thought about the times when we have have felt proud, delighted, upset and angry. To show our understanding we played the ā€˜corners gameā€™ and listened to the scenario and decided which emotion the person in the scenario was feeling. We enjoyed it so much and were so good at it that some of the children even shared a scenario for us to guess the emotion they felt. Tommy was really angry and upset when his toy dinosaur got broken.

We understand why we feel as we doā€¦

In Crew we this week, we have been showing different emotions with our faces, body language and/or actions. Then we considered what can actually cause us to feel these emotions. Thinking about this has helped us to think carefully about how our actions can have an impact on others and why some people might need to be shown extra compassion at times or may act out of character.

Caring Crew

In crew today we were understanding how we can help people when they’re feeling different emotions. #LovePlover

Caring Crew

Today, we talked about how we need to keep a healthy mind to take care of ourselves. If we take care of our minds and feel happy, we will be even better at being kind. Even if it was tricky, we respected our friends and stayed quiet and calm throughout. The children did so well and all said they felt happy afterwards. At Plover, we work hard, get smart and we are kind!

Our author of the month- Zanib Mian

Crew Blackham started their time to read crew session by building background knowledge on our author of the month- Zanib Mian. The children discovered lots of interesting facts about her including the various awards she has won. They were particularly interested in reading her collection of books named Planet Omar so we have voted them to be our next crew text!

Analysing our data in academic crew!

Today in crew, we noticed our attendance has improved and we are currently above national average. Our HoWLs average is 3.1 and we have finally come top of the phase in our Accelerated reader challenge! Impressive data!

Our crew wonder was how can we improve our arithmetic average. We discussed our ideas in pairs and then shared our pledges on post it notes!
We are determined to beat our scores next week!
