Roman Day

What a fun day we had on Friday, dressing up as Romans! We had some Roman soldiers ready for battle and some Roman Gods and Goddesses all looking fantastic.

The children also had the opportunity to try some Roman food, which included olives. I think Ashton’s face says it all about how everyone felt tasting olives!

New expedition

4L have enjoyed their first lesson of introducing our expedition for this term. They were really shocked to discover some Roman artefacts left in our school grounds. They also took part in an archaeological dig to try and piece together and communicate their thoughts as to what the different artefacts were.

Moon phases

We’ve had lots of fun today, making the different phases of the moon out of Oreos. The children were very disappointed that they weren’t able to eat them afterwards.

4L are all wonders!

This week we have been looking at the book we are wonders and we have created some beautiful artwork around this.

We thought about what makes us great and the things we are good at and wrote them around our picture. We also helped our friends, by telling them reasons they are great!

A very busy week in 3T

3T, I can’t believe another week is over.

This morning, we have had our first assembly. How strange doing it over Google Hangouts! However, it was really fun and exciting to do assembly in this new way.

I have to shout out the following children.

Kody – amazing effort with his sentences!

Prashidi – putting her hand up in class

Katie – May – impressive work on place value this week

Keep up the hard work! I really and truly have been impressed by the whole class as we have worked through the second week of term.

A quick note to parents, please help me to ensure all the right uniform etc gets back to you at the end of the day by labelling each item clearly. Thank you for your support with this!

I am really excited for next week’s learning already. Here are some clues for those who are eager! In Maths, we will be learning about x tables and we will be scientists in the afternoon, finding out more about the sun, the moon and the stars. We have some very curious children who have heard that the Earth is spinning every minute of the day. They are very curious to find out more!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone,

Miss Topliss

Welcome Back!

Welcome back 3T. It has been wonderful to see you all back at school. I have been so excited to have you all back. Thank you for a great first 2 days! Your behaviour in class has been exemplary. Moving to Year 3 is a big step, we are now juniors, but every child has acted with maturity and settled well into their new class.

We have worked hard on creating a class poem, thinking all about our qualities. Look out for the finished piece soon! We have a little decorating to do now!

In English, we have begun learning all about the sun, moon and stars and the class have asked some superb questions. I think I need to get my researching hat on very quickly!!

I have been so proud of the place value work today that the children have done up to 1000. Mrs Brown and I were blown away by how well you worked with the Deines to create numbers to 999!

Keep up the fantastic work 3T, what an amazing start to the year!

Welcome back 4L

Welcome back 4L! What a pleasure it has been to see your lovely, smiley faces today. You have worked really hard today and I can’t wait to see how much you flourish throughout the year!

Last day of school!

Good morning Key Stage One 🙂 I cannot believe this is the last day of school! And what an odd last day of school it is.

On behalf of myself, Miss Lister and Miss Topliss I just want to say a MASSIVE well done for all your hard work over these strange times. As a Key Stage One Crew we have kept each other going and we are all so proud of you.

Please continue to stay safe and have a fantastic summer, you truly deserve it!
