We are Crew Haycock!

Crew Haycock worked hard to find the best way to balance a ruler between the fingers of two crew mates. Then from their standing position, the pair had to lower themselves into a sitting position and get back up again without dropping the ruler. They quickly discovered, as with some of our other crew challengers, communication is key!

Great rugby skills in 4GR

Year 4 worked on their rugby skills in PE today with a coach from the Dons team.

Well done to Atlas for having the best celebration after scoring a try.

Weā€™ll meet again! (I promise)

3H were evacuated to Barton-upon-Humber on Tuesday. Parents waved us on our way as we left the city of Doncaster with gas mask boxes, name cards and packed lunches in hand. On our arrival at Wilderspin School, we met our billeting officer – Naomi – who showed us where we would have to stay and told us what would be expected of us as a child in 1940ā€™s Britain. She then gave us a stereotypical 1940ā€™s school experience where we heard Princess Elizabethā€™s speech to the nation during this difficult time.

Later, Ian taught us all about Churchillā€™s Cogs. Itā€™s fair to stay that 3H didnā€™t realise quite how difficult life was for children during World War Two.

What a fabulous day!

Competitive Crew Commando Joe Challenges

Year 3 had great fun on Friday afternoon when they had to work in crew teams to complete the challenges set for them. Communication was key; some of us were great at this, whilst others needed to learn share the air or to listen with more care. Once this was achieved, we were able to work much more effectively as crews and in doing so, we learnt a lot about each other too!

Well done, Year 3. Remember to continue communicating clearly and working to your strengths.

What does Crew mean to me?

3H have been really busy this week thinking about ā€˜What Crew means to themā€™ and how they could show this in an ā€˜act of kindnessā€™. We realised quickly that Crew means looking after each other and the area we live and work in. To show an act of kindness, we decided to head out into the community and give it a good old clean up.

With litter pickers and bags in hand, 3H came back with more litter than I even imagined!

Well done everyone! Your act of kindness did not go unnoticed by your community!

Crew week

Year 4 have had a lovely morning learning about Plover Pantry and Fareshare. We have also taken part in some crew team building activities building spaghetti and marshmallow towers.
