World War 2 Codebreaker Challenge

We are travelling back in time to a time when children were sent away from their families and coupons were used to buy food.

Danger was never very far away and you didn’t know if you would see your loved ones again.

We are going back to Britain in the 1940s at the time of World War 2 and it is your job to solve the puzzles and crack the code to work out the secret message.

Are you up for the job?

Can you collaborate well with your team?

Will you be the first to crack the code?

Follow this link and you will begin on your journey to the past…..

We’re forever blowing bubbles in 3G

We have had a lovely last day in 3G.

We have been blowing bubbles with our new bubble wands; reading our new books- we were given a book by Marcus Rashford; we had a lovely leavers assembly for the Year 6 pupils; this afternoon we spent our crew cash on a Mcdonalds; and finally we had an ice pop.

On a personal note I would like to say how much I have enjoyed working with my class this year and I am so looking forward to moving with them into 4G.

I was blown away by all the kind words, cards and presents. It is never expected but is greatly appreciated it – thank you so much.

Enjoy your summer holidays and get plenty of rest, I will see you all on Tuesday 30th August.

LKS2 Celebration of Learning

Year 3 and 4 have had a fantastic afternoon sharing our last two expeditions with parents and carers. It was lovely to be able to invite everyone back into school to share our learning. The children made us proud as always and we hope you enjoyed finding out what we have been learning about. Please take a look at the link below to download our amazing song or buy a CD at school.

Maths fun with lego

On Tuesday 3LS were set the challenge to find square numbers using only lego! They used their knowledge of times tables and found lots of square numbers. Well done! I wonder how many other times tables you could represent with lego? Could you make the 7 or 8 times tables?

We would love you to email your photos to [email protected] and we will select some winners at our first crew community meet in September! I can’t wait to see where you read and I am so excited to share the fabulous prizes we have sorted for our winners!

We are sweet makers! 🍬

4BW have finally made their sweets for their final product. The kids have loved getting messy and being creative with the designs of their product.
Lets hope they taste as good as they look!

We are sweet makers.

We have spent the morning sweets as part of our final product. We have had lots of fun getting messy and creating different shapes for our sweets.

Keeping Cool at School

3LS are enjoying a lovely peaceful and cool morning. We’ve created some beautiful art work and are now relaxing in the shade with our books. Look out for our finished artwork later on!

Selling our CDs at the XP Climate Conference

Tonight was another proud moment for me as LKS2 Phase Leader. Five of our Year 3 and 4 children, with children from the other three XP primary schools, presented the story behind their Spring Expedition, “Why should we protect this beautiful planet?” at the Climate Conference organised by XP School’s Year 10 students.

It was a packed hall, but our children spoke with real confidence and got a great round of applause.

The evening was rounded off with the premiere of our charity song CD and video. The children then helped to sell the CDs. and I am pleased to say they sold very well and people were very impressed.

Best of all, this was a great rehearsal for next Tuesday, when we have our own Celebration of Learning at Plover – when you will also be able to buy the CD.

A big thank you to the parents and grandparents that came and supported their children at the event, it is much appreciated.
