Times table mania!

Y1/2 are having a great time dancing and singing their 2 times tables with Bridget the lioness! Try it yourself at home by googling ‘BBC Super Movers’ and then KS1. Here you can find dances for number bonds and relevant times tables.

The week ahead…

We have a busy week in 1/2T this week!

Tomorrow we have PE. Please note this is a change from PE in the Autumn Term, so children need to have their PE kits in school on a Monday morning.

On Tuesday we will launch ‘book and a biscuit’ – please see the letter sent home on Thursday for further details. Entrance will be through the back gate at 2.30. Gates will be locked at 2.35 for safety reasons.

On Wednesday we have our family learning session (2-3). Entrance will be via the main reception.

If you have not done so already, your child’s ICT agreement letter needs signing ASAP to allow them to access our new Chromebooks! Please also remember to send back your parents’ evening letter ASAP as we will be sending home appointment times on Tuesday evening.

Please ask if there is anything else you need! I look forward to seeing you all in the morning!

Up, up and away!

The children have made some fantastic hot air balloons today using strips of paper. Through careful crafting, they have created some really intricate designs! These will be displayed on our main board, on our shared area display board and on the classroom door.

We have also started our dance module in PE today, all inspired by the movement of cats!

Behaviour has been really impressive today in Y1/2. I am so proud of every child. Keep up the hard work everyone.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back Y1/2. We have had a lovely start to Spring Term. We have been reminding ourselves about class norms and I am really proud of how the children have settled back in to school after the holiday.

Our new guiding question is ‘How do aircraft stay in the air?’ The children have been writing all about what they already know about aircraft and what they would like to find out. We have also made our very own passports for our journey this term!

Keep it up tomorrow 1/2T!

Getting ready for a new term

Hello 1/2T. I hope you have all had an amazing holiday, I am looking forward to hearing about all the things you have been doing this holiday and finding out what Father Christmas brought for you!

Remember that school is open on Monday 6th January at 8.40. We will spend the week becoming immersed in our new topic. I still can’t tell you what it is but I can give you a clue. We will be spending lots of time looking up over the next term! I wonder if any of you can guess what our new topic might be?

Enjoy the weekend and see you on Monday.

Y1/2T are all ready for Wednesday’s Christmas Fayre!

Year 1/2T are all ready for the Christmas Fayre this Wednesday afternoon! The children have been working hard to create these gorgeous snowman log slices. They will be priced £2 each and are available at the fayre. If you are not able to make the fayre, please see Miss Topliss, as you will be able to purchase your child’s decoration should you wish to do so on Thursday and Friday drop off/pick up.
