We had a true and very talented superstar in KS1 who wished to play some Christmas songs on his guitar to all of KS1. Atlas, YOU were absolutely fantastic! We were all blown away! You showed courage, talent and confidence and you should be so very proud of yourself! Congratulations and a huge well done Atlas! #loveplover.
Our KS1 children had a wonderful time at the Christmas party today. We ate party food, danced, sang and played lots of party games. Lots of fun was had by all. #loveplover
The pupils of Plover have been very creative this week making Christmas cards for the Santa-gram scheme. Home Instead Doncaster are running a Be A Santa-gram to a Senior as part of their commitment to make the biggest possible difference to the lives of older people in the Doncaster area. The cards will be distributed to the Alzheimer’s Society (Doncaster), Age UK (Doncaster), DonMentia (local dementia charity), b:friend and our clients who live in their own homes.
For those of you struggling with costumes I’ve posted an idea below. It doesn’t have to be fancy! Narrators, if you can wear a Christmas jumper please.
We hope you’re having a lovely weekend. Just a few reminders for this final week:
Tuesday – christmas party, children can come in party clothes and school will provide party food.
Wednesday – christmas nativity recording, can children bring their costumes in a labelled carrier bag (Y1 angels, 2B townspeople, 2P sheep). They can bring their costumes in tomorrow or Tuesday for dress rehearsals.
Thursday – christmas jumper day and christmas dinner.
Friday – christmas singing, christingle, children to bring a plastic bag to take home christmas cards & crafts 🛍📨🎄
Remember there are no afterschool clubs this week.
Last week we were learning about hedgehogs and hibernation. We made some lovely, leafy hedgehog homes then made our own hedgehogs with clay and natural objects. I’m sure you’ll agree they look amazing!
We also learnt that hedgehogs are at threat of becoming endangered. Have you thought about making your own garden hedgehog friendly? Maybe you could add a little hope in your fence to let them travel through. They should be hibernating by now, so if you see one, don’t disturb it and leave it a little food. Cat food is great but never milk!
Thank you to all our children and parents in 1M for your generous donations for the Christmas hampers! We have managed to fill 3 hampers, which I think is the most throughout school.
I will get the children a nice treat next Friday, to say thank you for your kind contributions 🙌🏽
