Celebrate Reading

Massive shout out to the children in KS1 for continuing to read more at home and getting their books changed… we have now earned a fifth present from our ‘Book Flood’ incentive! Ryley unwrapped the gift this morning and children of KS1 will get to enjoy the new book.

Another impressive shout out to Lena. Our Yellow t-shirt winner who has now reached 200 minutes whilst reading at home. Lena received her platinum certificate and a prize for her continued dedication to read at home!

Christmas festivities and learning

Quick update on how fabulous all of 1M have been today!

They have been busy bees and all have worked so hard – retelling a Christmas classic; writing Christmas acrostic poems; counting Christmas gifts; creating picture books; painting, decorating and making Christmas crafts; learning about why we celebrate Christmas? And making our own Christingle.

Lena works so hard in her learning and especially her reading. Lena has nearly achieved PLATINUM on her reading record which shows she is working hard on her reading at home!

Book flood!

Book Flood!

As part of our Christmas reading incentive, the children are being encouraged to read even more than usual. For every 30 books that are read in the Key Stage, the children earn a bauble for the virtual tree and a real present for the all of the classes to share. The first present was earned yesterday and we are well on our way to earning our 2nd and even 3rd present already! Well done Key Stage 1. Let’s see if you can earn all of the presents and decorate our virtual tree! Here is Johnny opening our first present:

Rocking around the Christmas Tree 🎄

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” KS1 decorated the school’s Christmas Trees yesterday with their creative and crafty Christmas baubles, which they have all hand made!

Just a reminder that’s it’s Christmas Film Night after school today, 3pm-5pm for those children who will be staying! 🎅🏼🎄📺🌭🥤

Pride of Plover in 1M!

Congratulations to our Yellow teach winner!

Karlie Rose has been working hard in her phonics, reading and writing!

Three other teachers have come up to me this week saying how impressed they have been with Karlie-Rose blending her sounds in her phonics and more confidence in reading. I have also seen this when she is writing her sentences.

Working Hard Collaboratively and Independently

Our children have displayed some awesome learning today! They have all worked so hard in their learning assessments this week (the end is in sight)… but to then continue their learning either independently or collaboratively in provisions is fantastic to see.

Try not to have a little chuckle at one of the sentences below. 🤣

I praise Ethan and Brooke who have been great coaches with Omer and Alina who have worked hard to improve their reading!

I wonder if the cat ever got out the toilet 🙊
