Today, we made a coin to commemorate the King’s Coronation, out of the clay. First we rolled the clay and sang a little somg as we did it. We worked so carefully using tools to engrave the King’s cypher. On the other side we made our own cypher. We even showed texture by using a tiny stick to make indents and lines.
This video shows how we critiqued and explored a noteable artist called Peter Thorpe. The children loved talking to eachother all about shape, line, texture and colour. It was slightly more noisy than when we wrote our observations and drew our own pictures! Watch this space for our masterpieces!
1M have been learning about space, Maw Jemison and Peter Thorpe’s artwork this week. They have collaborated superbly during text marking, silent galleries and gallery walks! #LovePlover
Today we critiqued Peter Thorpe’s art work. 🎨 We noticed and praised the colours, lines and shapes he used. Some of us had wonders about his colour choices and shapes. We discussed how his art made us feel. There was a mixture of emotions! We then had a go at our own piece and critiqued that. Tomorrow we will use our wonders to make an improved piece of beautiful Peter Thorpe inspired art. Click on the link to get a feel of our classroom this morning.(sound on) It was amazing!

The children built different vehicles this morning with their families. They folded, stuck and painted and made some fantastic models. Thank you to all the families that took part.
