KS1 Celebration of Learning Tomorrow 2pm-3pm

We are so excited to invite our parents and carers to our celebration of learning and family learning tomorrow at 2pm. We will share our learning throughout this terms expedition. We have some very special guests and we can’t wait to unveil our final product! Please join us on the 27th March 2pm! Entry will be through the side gate at main reception as our COL will be in the KS1 playground!

Monday 15th April – KS1 ‘In my day’ Dress Up Day

In the Summer of 2024, Y1 and Y2 pupils will be studying Diverse Doncaster, a cross-curricular expedition looking to answer the guiding question ‘Where do I belong?’

On Monday 15th April, we will be having an ‘Old Fashioned’ clothes from the past dress up day. The purpose behind the day is to promote a love for our new expedition.

Please do not feel any pressure to go out and spend any money on new outfits. That is not what we are trying to do. Maybe you could borrow some items from a friend or old person, or even have a go at reusing and making clothes from old sheets. Be creative! The costume can be something very simple and we have attached some example pictures below to help:

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.

Bird Box Making Expert

Thank you to Dennis, who is an expert in engineering and helped some of our KS1 children build six bird boxes for our final product! Riley and Kayson also added some pretty hanging baskets and signage for our Eco-Garden. #LovePlover

Measuring Mass

Today 1/2K started our new Maths unit. We began by introducing the vocabulary “heavier” and “lighter”. We then looked at different objects around the room to find out which objects were heavier/lighter than others.
After that we started an investigation. We wanted to measure the mass of three items in our classroom. The children did this using a scale and cubes. We discussed around the importance of accuracy when we were conducting our experiment.
