Caring Crew

Today, we talked about how we need to keep a healthy mind to take care of ourselves. If we take care of our minds and feel happy, we will be even better at being kind. Even if it was tricky, we respected our friends and stayed quiet and calm throughout. The children did so well and all said they felt happy afterwards. At Plover, we work hard, get smart and we are kind!

5 is made up of…

With the help of the 5 little Speckled Frogs song, we learned more about the composition of the number 5. We then used manipulatives to demonstrate our learning on a part whole model. At the end, we consolidated our learning by using the sentence ‘5 is made up of…and ….’ Ask our children if they know how 5 is made?

Roots of Empathy!

This week in F2 we had a visit from Baby T. The children really enjoyed learning about what he can do and seeing his responses to the different toys. They loved the smiles he made when they sang to him. We look forward to his next visit!

Future Architects?

The children have been busy being The Three Little Pigs in the builders yard. They have been placing orders for materials, drawing up designs like architects and writing down phone messages. In maths, they’ve been building staircases, using the language of one more, one fewer to notice patterns in number.

I am the…

Today the children have been pretending to be the troll and the goats in the story of The three billy goats gruff. They have used small world, outdoor construction and drawings and have also been writing speech bubbles.

F2PR Our walk to explore the local library!

This week we had a walk through our local area to visit the library. We loved looking at all the different type of story and information books with our grown ups. We shared a lovely story about a bear who lives in a book at the library and comes to life! When we returned to school we made a map of our journey ensuring we included the key things we saw along the way.

A local walk to the library

Today, we learned how we can use a library for our ‘fieldwork’. We loved seeing rows and rows of beautiful books and listened beautifully to a story about a story book bear who came to life! In maths, we drew a map of our route, ensuring we included specific items. Some of us are definitely Geographers!
