World Book Day

World Book Day will be celebrated on 2nd March 2023. Children are invited to dress up if they wold like to as their favourite book character. Please do not feel any pressure to buy costumes (children can wear uniform as normal if they wish). Children are also welcome to make a badge, wear a themed t-shirt or make an accessory from their favourite story or that their favourite character uses! We will celebrate as a school throughout the day and all children will receive the Ā£1 book token that they can exchange for a World Book Day special edition book, which are available to buy in local bookshops and supermarkets.

Please take a look at the amazing competition detailed below as part of World Book Day!

World Book DayĀ® is helping to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cressida Cowellā€™s How to Train Your Dragon with a truly magical prize. One lucky winner will have the change to go on a 3-day family trip to Soltau in Germany to stay at Heide Park, the theme park that is home to an entire land based around How to Train Your Dragon. https://www.worldbookday.com/howtotrainyourdragon/

Danum Read Aloud

KS2 children are invited to take part in the Danum Read Aloud! The children have the chance to take part in a school competition, where they will perform one of a series of speeches provided by their class teacher. There is a round for each KS2 year group (3, 4, 5 and 6) before a school final on 24th February. One lucky school winner will then be invited to perform their speech one more time at the Danum Read Aloud at Danum Gallery, Library and Museum on 30th March for the chance to win Ā£50! Please see Miss Topliss (Year 6) with any questions. #LovePlover

Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush!!!

On the first Monday back after half term, all children in Year 3 and Year 4 are going to seeing how clean their teeth are.

We will be using a disclosing tablet and then the children will be able to see any areas where they have missed brushing their teeth.

To ensure all children can take part in this activity, please could you send your child’s toothbrush and toothpaste in a small named plastic bag.

if your child is unable to use a disclosing tablet, please could you inform your class teacher in advance.

Thanks

We are proud postcard winners

These children from 3H were incredible last week. They all earned themselves an award postcard for either being awesome, working, hard or improving their attendance. Well done everyone!

Pride of Plover!

What an awesome week Caleb had last week. He impressed Mr Schofield so much on Wednesday and Thursday that he immediately identified him as someone who deserved to be wearing the yellow t-shirt this week. Well done Caleb – you are such a hard worker and incredibly polite too! We are all so proud of you!

We are electricians!

3H had an incredible week last week with lots of exciting learning taking place. We have been scientists and have officially become expert electricians! Everyone can use the electricity kits to create a simple circuit which lights up a bulb.
