Our guest speakers were fabulous today. So many first-hand experiences were shared and we also saw photographs taken in Doncaster during World War II. Hearing these experiences inspired the children to ask questions which will help them to answer our guiding question: How does war change lives?
All of the pupils from 3H have been amazing today; however Mia, Chris and Terrace managed to catch my eye as being outstanding! Mia is consistently amazing on a daily basis; Chris has been so engaged in his learning all day, it was great too see that smile; and Terrace will do anything to help anyone – what a gentleman!
Shout out to Nelly, Harry and Methmi. They work so hard all of the time in class and then go home to extend their study even further still! Superstars.
Well done to Crew Abbiss superstars this week! you have all done fantastic on your Accelerated Reader Quizzes by challenging yourself with your reading.
Well done to all the children in Year 3 and 4 this week. You have worked so incredibly hard, fitting in the learning that was planned to be covered over four days into the 3 days we had this week.
I have seen how hard you have worked on your final write and I am looking forward to reading some more in more detail.
You have really demonstrated how much you have learnt in your World War 2 expedition so far.
3H have had the best week yet! They are trying so hard to become awesome learners by listening with more care and by helping each other when needed. I look forward to seeing how we grow even more as the year progresses.
Well done you superstars!
See you Wednesday 3H – I’m in Manchester all day Tuesday with Miss Farrow on a course!
For your information, Year 4 PE will usually be held on Monday and Year 3 PE will usually be held on Wednesday.
There may be times when these days have to change ( due to weather, extra PE sessions or other unforeseen circumstances), so please could children bring their PE kits to school on Monday and leave in school until Friday.
It also helps us greatly if all items of PE clothing (and footwear) are labelled with the child’s name.
We have a fantastic opportunity for 10 of our Plover children to be flag bearers and parade around the Eco Power pitch for the opening game of the Rugby League World Cup!
· The first fixture at the Eco Power Stadium, which will take place on Monday 17th October, France Vs Greece, 7.30pm kick off. This is the game that we plan on celebrating the success of the RLWC2021 Legacy program that our school has been a part of. We are encouraging as many children to attend this fixture with friends, family, parents and school friends. The Flag Parade will take place 30/40 mins before kick off!
· Parents will be able to pay for tickets on ParentPay for themselves and their children. We are keeping a track on quantities so tickets can be bought together and all the Plover Crew sit together for this amazing experience!
It would be amazing for as many Plover children and families to experience this once in a life time sporting opportunity. We ask that every child attending has a parent/guardian with them. Mr Meade and another member of Plover staff will be there to meet you all.
Any questions email [email protected] or speak to the office! The deadline for tickets is next Friday 16th September! #LovePover
