KS1 Pride of Plover Winners

Well done to Ines, Sienna, Kodie-Lee, Ellis, Nina and Ellie who are our Pride of Plovers this week!

Some of the reasons being: 100% attendance all year, improved reading, working hard on their writing, improved behaviour and lovely, kind children! #LovePlover

Batting and BSL

In PE last week children enjoyed practising their batting skills with a cricket bat. On Friday, children completed their BSL greetings unit! #LovePlover

We are Crew Haycock!

Crew Haycock smashed this week’s crew challenge. They were incredibly competitive at first but began to give each other encouragement and support as the challenge progressed. They used a range of skills including counting in multiples of ten to predict when they would be ‘out’ as well as throwing and catching skills.

The bagels were cooked to perfection too: thank you chefs!

Sea Creature Collages

This week F1 have worked really hard, to create some beautiful sea creature collages, as part of our final product. The children chose either a starfish, fish or turtle, to collage using a variety of materials. They thought very carefully about what colour materials they needed to choose, for their chosen sea creature. I am so proud of all the gorgeous artwork that has been created – we are artists!

Pride Of Plover

This week Aayan and Jaxon got our Pride of Plover badges. Both boys have shown fantastic focus when doing their sea creature collages, as part of our final product this week. I am so proud of the beautiful work you have produced, keep it up.

Beautiful Work This Week

Why We Crew – XP Trust in Aberdeen

Since 2019 we have been working with the educational charity The Wood Foundation, which is based in Scotland. Dozens of educators from schools in the Aberdeen area have been visiting our Trust as delegates for the last four years – learning about Crew, expeditions and Leadership.

This week for the first time colleagues from our Trust, including our CAO Andy, had the opportunity to deliver CPD to teachers in Aberdeen, visiting schools and meeting students. It was heartwarming and humbling to see Crew – sometimes called Squads and Clans north of the border – being delivered in Scotland.

We look forward to welcoming more delegates to our Trust schools in the future and travelling back to support our new friends as they continue their Crew journey.

There Is No Planet B – Product Curation at Norton Juniors

The beautiful work from LKS2’s Expedition ‘There Is No Planet B’ is now curated outside the school! The awesome artwork, created from digital images of discarded waste, depicts various different animals whose habitats are being destroyed in the local community. To further reinforce the notion of climate emergency, through their literacy cycle, pupils also wrote persuasive speeches about how we can all bring about positive change if we work together.
