Woodland Walk

Today, we went to the woods. We found some leaves, conkers and conker husks. It felt warm like summer and we could not find any red leaves. We talked about why the leaves change colour and maybe they will change colour as it gets colder. We have set the children a challenge to find some pine cones, acorns and red leaves over the half term holiday. Here are some pictures of us searching for signs of Autumn and playing tiggy scarecrow.

Y1’s Journey to Sandall Beat Woods

Firstly, we want to say how immensely proud we are of all our Y1 children and Crew, as their behaviour and work ethic today was superb!

So, we set off on our journey and collected natural resources on the way to create our memory stick.

When we arrived we learnt how to use a map and follow a compass. Shout out to Crew Meade, Crew Pond and Crew Carter for working collaboratively to complete the orienteering challenge (p.s Crew Meade WON!)

After we enjoyed some chocolate goodies and had fun playing on the park with our buddies!

We were ready for lunch before making some tasty treats during the campfire cooking with Leon.

We finished by building an epic Castle? Palace? DEN? And made some shrubbery crowns fit for the Kings and Queens of the jungle!

What a journey to end an incredible year 1 journey, with a beautiful Year 1 Crew! #LovePlover

Thank you Tesco

A huge thank you to Nevaeh’s Grandad and Tesco for their generous community donations of gardening equipment, fairy lights, bubbles and stationary prizes! A true act of kindness for our We Care Wednesday Crew yesterday. #LovePlover
