Making Fireworks

This afternoon we have been exploring glitter, pipe cleaners and glow sticks to create our own fireworks. The children showed great control and manipulation to wrap the pipe cleaners round the glow sticks and used their fingers to make firework patterns in the glitter.

Year 5 and 6 need your help!

Year 5 and 6 are in the process of building a greenhouse throughout our ‘How can we help our planet survive expedition?’

We are in need of more 2 litre bottles, so we can complete our greenhouse. Please send any used bottles you have to help us achieve our goal. We will put them to good use and we may even grow our own vegetables for our Plover Pantry!

Thank you

Year 4 PE

The new half term meant that year 4 would be moving on from hockey and learn a new PE skill so this time, they will be doing teamwork activities and games for OAA (Outdoor and Adventurous Activities). Today was the start of this team building with different challenges they had to complete. Although there was a few disagreements, the teams worked together to get through the problems and communicated with each other.
Well done year 4, super proud of the teamwork you displayed today!

Firework Pictures

We have been artists this week and created our own fireworks. We used toilet roll tubes, paint and glitter to create the magical explosion affect.

1LI PE Monday

Monday will see the school photographer visiting. Please could we ask that children in 1LI wear school uniform on Monday.

Children will then be able to get changed before PE.

Forest Schools Visit Plover!

We had a fantastic time when Forest schools came to visit yesterday. We found different coloured leaves and made an Autumn rainbow. We collected conkers, practised our counting skills and explored how the different shapes rolled. We made a squirrel picture with our findings and enjoyed toasting marshmallows over the fire.

Year 3 PE

A new half term meant a new PE activity and today, it was team building exercises. The year 3’s started off with a warm up on listening to instructions to do the correct actions, before splitting up into groups to work on team building games. There were plenty of smiles to go around as they communicated with each other on completing the challenges and games. Plenty of children had worked incredibly well as a group and did as they were told.

Well done year 3!

This week 3GS have been discovering what life around Doncaster was like during the Roman period. We have investigated different artefacts and historical sources to learn more about the Romans.

Phonics Superstar

Joud has blown us away with his phonics today! He has joined in with all our graphemes and even told some of his friends what they are. It’s great to see you becoming much more confident Joud, we are so proud.
