Well done to Kara and Farhan, our yellow T-shirt winners this week!
Kara has settled beautifully into nursery life this week, following routines and getting on with her learning. She is a kind friend and a fabulous new edition to our crew.
Farhan has done some absolutely fantastic maths work over the past week, completing and creating repeating patterns. He has also shown a great work ethic in phonics, trying his best to blend and segment words in large group time.

We Are Storytellers

Today we re told the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We discussed key vocabulary then practised the key phrases that are repeated throughout the text. It was lovely to see children continuing this in their own provision, after we had done it as a whole class.

KS1 Thursday

Tomorrow, we will have the opportunity to work with DMBC Street Scene to begin planting our Mini Orchard and hedges in the KS1 area.

Children will be outside for short periods tomorrow. Please could we ask that all children have hat, gloves and a coat. If children have wellies, it would be great if they could be sent in to school in a plastic bag to allow the children to change their footwear.

F2PR Our walk to explore the local library!

This week we had a walk through our local area to visit the library. We loved looking at all the different type of story and information books with our grown ups. We shared a lovely story about a bear who lives in a book at the library and comes to life! When we returned to school we made a map of our journey ensuring we included the key things we saw along the way.

Hook week

During hook week, we learned all about The Arctic and the animals that live there. Y3 created some beautiful canvas paintings that imitate the front cover of our core text, The Last Bear.

Library Visit

A big thank you to all the parents who supported the children on their visit to the library today. The children enjoyed visiting the library and looking at the large selection of books they have. We shared a story together in the library and it was lovely to see some families even signed up to go back!

Hook Week Immersion
