3SG continued their investigations into states of matter by looking into how we can affect the evaporation of water. We noticed how water quickly turns to water vapour when heat is directly applied by a hotplate, then how it condenses back to water when the cold lid was placed on top. We compared this to water left on the windowsill, which is continuing to evaporate much more slowly. We then recorded our observations of this reversible process and wrote a conclusion.
Working as scientists, we have used thermometers to test the temperature of different scenarios and locations around the room. We even did some maths to find the difference between our predicted temperatures and the actual ones recored.

This Tuesday’s Snuggle and Story was lovely. We had some of our lovely parents coming to share books and snuggles with their children. We all picked a new book to take home. We talked about our British Value of ‘Liberty’ and how we get lots of choices in school. Some children decided to draw their favourite book too. We love reading in F2!
Well done to Raegan and Lucas who produced wonderful plans about local hero, Douglas Bader. Both boys tried so hard to not only do their neatest handwriting but also remember all the key information we had learnt. Well done boys, I can’t wait to see your final fact files!

We enjoyed setting up another science experiment to investigate how long it takes for an ice cube to melt in different areas. We observed that some materials change state.
Last week, we investigated oobleck by mixing cornstarch and water together. We set up a simple practical enquiry, and began to understand how to create a fair test.
Charlie has worked hard to label 5 minute intervals on an analogue clock. Well done!
In F2, we have been thinking about characters from the stories we have read. This week, we are thinking about characters for our own seaside adventures. We talked about them and then went to create them using drawings, paintings, models or play dough in provision.
Yesterday we thought about the characters we have read about throughout the expedition. We learnt to sign who and the characters. Today the children chose the character for their story and created it in some way. Have a look at their creations.
