Medieval Banquet

Today in Year 2 we had a banquet in class. We all had a different role to play and everyone had a great time! We had a King and Queen, Lords and Ladies, Knights, musicians, a jester and kitchen and waiting staff. The children enjoyed food and dancing and then we reflected on what it might really have been like to attend a real banquet in the past.

King, Lord, Knight or Peasant?

Today in 2LP we were learning about the feudal system in medieval England. We worked collaboratively and found out who was the most important person in the country down to the lowest people in society.

We couldn’t decide who we’d less like to be, a Knight had a dangerous job but we thought the poor peasants had it worse! The children were shocked to find out that the life expectancy of a peasant was only 30 years old, although a few of them said that 30 was very old!

We are working hard

3H have had the best week yet! They are trying so hard to become awesome learners by listening with more care and by helping each other when needed. I look forward to seeing how we grow even more as the year progresses.

Well done you superstars!

See you Wednesday 3H – I’m in Manchester all day Tuesday with Miss Farrow on a course!

Super home learning in 4G

I am really proud of Tim, Shayen, Ella and Rio for completing research at home about World War 2.

Well done guys, it will really help your learning in class, as well as earning you 10 crew coins and a postcard!

School closure, Monday 19th September

Monday 19th September has been announced as a bank holiday for the state funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Plover school and Kiddiewinks will therefore be closed to children and staff on this day as a mark of respect.

Thanks, Mrs Ogle

National Bear Day

Friday is National Bear Day.

EYFS children can come to school dressed as a bear if they wish. They could wear something with a bear on it. They could have their face painted as a bear.

We will be making bear masks and ears in school so don’t feel that your child has to dress up.

Many thanks
