Who knew that toilet roll was good for measuring with? Lots of you have made toilet roll number lines, like Brooke.
Some of you have measured how big your body is too.
Well done everybody.
This week I have chosen Isabelle. Isabelle is always a superstar in her learning. She works hard and tries her best all the time even if she is unsure. She has shown this through her writing, maths and particularly in her model making. Well done Isabelle.
Dania Ali again!
I have been so impressed with how happily and sensibly Dania has settled back into school. She always arrives with a smile on her face and works so hard at everything she does. In addition she is still working hard at home. Well done Dania!
For maths today we would like you to continue with the toilet roll challenge. How many sheets do you need to cover different parts of your body? Estimate first.
Practice your fine motor skills with some cutting out.
Lots of you have completed the A-Z challenge today about what the dragon could eat. I have noticed lots of you using your phonics knowledge to help you sound out the words. I praise the use of the alphabet to help you remember the order the letters come in.
He would be a very fat and full dragon if he ate all the things that you thought of!
Can you think of something to feed the dragon for each letter of the alphabet?
There is also a toilet roll challenge for maths.
I have spent a very exciting morning in Sandal Beat Woods, as F2’s information board was erected. F2 children spent a long time researching woodland animals and creating beautiful artwork as part of their last expedition. I am sure you will all agree that their finished work looks fantastic. Our F2 children should be very proud of themselves. I wonder if you can spot your portrait?
The information board is within the fenced off area by the fire circles, opposite the park. I’m sure it will be very helpful to all members of the public and children visiting the woods. Due to current restrictions at the education center, the best day to visit the woods and see the sign is Tuesday as the gates to this area are locked through the week.
Well done F2!
Learning today is based around the hungry dragon. Can you make a hungry dragon? The hungry dragon went on an eating binge. Can you think of new things for him to eat?
Maths is based around adding using a 10 frame.
This week our learning is based around the book There was an old dragon who swallowed a knight. It has a similar rhythm to the story There was an old lady who swallowed a fly.
Maths is based around the book Princess Mirror-Belle and the dragon Pox by Julia Donaldson with ideas from White Rose Maths week 8.
