What buildings can we see?

We went for a walk in the local area today to look at the buildings. We found detached, semi-detached and terrace houses. There were also bungalows, flats, schools, shops, a library and a church. We spotted garages and solar panels. We will be using what we found out over the next few days.

Early years builders

We explored tools today. Mr Taylor was our expert and he made sure that we wore our safety goggles, kept our fingers away and watched what we were doing. We learnt to use hammers and saws and bench hooks.

I was very proud of how children listened and followed the instructions.

Celebrating reading

Well done to Mia who read sentences on her own today so was given our postcard. She was so proud of herself for reading on her own.

We also celebrated with Paisley and Zara as they completed the reading challenge and chose a book to keep.

Keep up the fantastic reading everyone. I wonder who will be the next one to complete the challenge.

How is glass made?

A huge thank you to our experts that came in today, to explain to us how glass is made. The children were amazed to find out what glass is made from and to feel some of the materials. We even had a go at being scientists ourselves, trying out the process of making glass.

Teamwork

Well done to Evanas and Alec for working together to create a fort outside. They shared ideas, built together and then allowed other children to share in their learning.
