Addition in maths

Using part part whole children learnt ways to add and write number sentences with + =

Well done to Chase, Weronika and Antonina who used counters to work it out! #LovePlover

We are marvellous mathematicians!

Counting in 8s has been challenging for many of us this week but we have grappled and worked through it together. There were some very proud pupils by the end of today’s maths lesson and two very proud adults! Additional shout out to Alex for getting smart and using resources from around the room.

Well done everyone!

Mrs Haycock and Miss Millington.

Numicon

In maths today we have been exploring numicon. The children were using numicon to make numbers in different ways and then recorded this collaboratively.

Mathematicians

The children worked very hard this afternoon matching objects in five frames and saying which had the most. Green children extended their learning by finding the matching numicon/numeral and finding out one more.

Chase the Number

Chase has been working hard on making numbers, drawing numbers and writing numbers up to 10. Then he was finding one less and one more. Great job dude! #LovePlover

Amazing Maths

We have been mastering ‘one less’. We used lots of manipulatives to build a number and take one away to show one less. We spoke in sentences: “One less than…..is….”. Maybe you can use things at home to let them show you?
