Bikeability Training in Y5

It was great to see so many Y5 children learning about safety and the basics of cycling today. Some of the children will advance onto street cycling tomorrow.

A big shout out to Morris, who grew in confidence when riding a bike for the first time this morning! #LovePlover

Red crew coin winners! ❤️

Please note that ALL crews will have experienced a treat for winning the most crew coins this year. Blue crew had the opportunity to spend time on the giant inflatables when they won in the autumn, red crew have won a water fight due to their win in the spring (as our winners win their treat the term after.) Yellow crew have won a prize to be announced shortly as they are the summer winners.
Children in red crew will need a towel, a spare pair of clothes and a bottle to fill with water.

F2 Faith Day

Today, we did some mindful meditation and talked about how it made us feel. Lots of children used the words ‘calm, happy, tired, sad, dancey’.
We then watched a video about BUDDHISM. The children talked about The Buddha and how he was enlightened and realised that there was so much suffering in the world but we needed to learn to be happy with what we have got. Buddhists use meditation to help them focus on these things. They celebrate the Buddha on Vesak day. Similar to some of the celebrations we have, they give cards. They also have lanterns to keep the dark away.

We made some lanterns to help us remember about Vesak.

Making jellyfish

The children have tried really hard to make jellyfish whilst in F2. They have practiced cutting on lines and holding their scissors correctly. They put Tommy Thumb on the top and cut forwards.

Lovely Day in New F2M

It has been brilliant to spend some more time with the new children in F2M today. We have enjoyed crew, feelings check in, cutting, sticking, counting, reading, writing and most importantly playing with our news friends! Can’t wait to see you all at the end of August F2M. #LovePlover

When we grow up! The new 2L

What a busy two days we’ve had in 2L! We’ve been thinking about positive and negative changes and how we’re all special and unique. The children enjoyed getting to know their new surroundings, new adults and new children in class. We’ve been so busy thinking about our aspirations for the future and we were lucky to have some visitors come and tell us about their exciting careers.

I can’t wait for our Y2 adventure to begin in August!

A taste of the new 2P.

It has been great getting to meet the new 2P for next year. We have enjoyed 2 days together where we have explored whether change is a positive or negative thing. It was decided that it could sometimes be both. One child said that change, ‘Was a chance to challenge ourselves to be better’. We shared what made us special and created special stars to show the class. During our active learning, we played a game where we had to focus, listen and watch our classmates. We copied the actions that they were doing to show we were giving them our attention.

Today we explored our aspirations for the future. We shared examples of the jobs we could do when we grew up and enjoyed two expert visitors who taught us all about jobs on cruise ships and in the army. We then created a poster to share what we wanted to be when we grew up. I can’t wait to get the new class back together again in August.
